Travel Diary || A trip to Nal Sarovar || Bird Sanctuary ||Boat Ride || Beautiful Day 🚤

Hello everyone, how are you all doing today? Hope all is well. I’m great by the grace of God 😇. Today I am here with a new story in my travel diary. A new experience and an early morning ride are all packed into this one story. It was actually a day well spent with my colleagues. So let’s begin with my post.

It all began on a Friday night in the office; we were discussing that we should all go together on a weekend to roam some place nice. So we made a plan to go to a place called ‘Nal Sarovar Bird Sanctuary.’ Sarovar actually means a large area of fresh water surrounded by land. It was a 1 hour and 38 minutes drive from Ahmedabad. We had decided to reach there early in the morning by 6:00 or 7:00 a.m. at the maximum. So for that we had to leave way early in the morning.

There were 4 of us who were going to go on this trip. 2 of my colleagues lived together in their apartment near the office. So the plan was that I and my friend Navyaa would reach their place at 4:00 a.m., and then from there we would leave together. They warned us many times to be on time, and look at the irony: when we both reached there, they weren’t even awake.🤣. We had to wait there for an hour for them to be ready. And to be fair, we girls were on time 😅.

Finally, when they were ready, we could leave for the journey. It was early in the morning, so it was damn cold. We were on two wheelers, so we felt all the chills. One of our friend's bikes had to be refilled with fuel, so all throughout the way we were looking for gas stations, but as it was early, no stations were available. So anyhow, we managed to ride halfway there, and then we found a gas station, which wasn’t operating yet, but we had to wake the person to fill the tank. As we weren’t sure if it was going to go on further, it was necessary we did that.

After refilling fuel, we rode way faster to reach our destination. And then finally as the sun rose, so did we reach the Bird Sanctuary. The place looked so serene. At first we purchased all the tickets to get to the lake inside and the sanctuary and parked our vehicles. The visiting time for the lake was 6:00 a.m to 5:30 p.m so we were right on time. As we got onto the boat, the skipper instructed us about which spots we were going to visit on our boat ride. So our dear Friend Listrin decided to choose all the spots without consulting with us and he said we have come here only once let’s see all it has to offer. We all chuckled and said that yah just because it’s the beginning of the month you are being so generous 🤣.

We saw various species of birds. And the skipper told us all the names and information about them. One of the birds was a purple mor (peacock). It looked so beautiful. I remember this name because the skipper kept taking its name, and I misunderstood it as though he was saying ‘Pal Pal mor’ 😂, and I assumed that that might be the name of the species of that particular bird, but I was so wrong. I laughed so hard when I realised he was actually trying to say purple mor. We also saw a lot of ducks, geese, and pelicans as well.

During the ride, it was almost 11:00, so we stopped to have lunch at the food shacks. We had some delicious food, as you can see in the picture. It was all so yummy. We enjoyed our food and then took a quick nap. Then soon it was time for us to leave. So we got back to our boat and got ready to go. The skipper also had his lunch and then got back to the boat. After our lunch, we also stopped to take some good pictures. Later, he then left us at the place where we had begun our boat ride from. We then went to the place where our vehicles were parked and then left from there.

So all together it was a fun experience. The birds, the greenery, and the sunset were all worth the time. We enjoyed ourselves and had a nice relaxing time as well. After we all reached our homes, we all slept.
