Steemit Engagement Challenge / S19/W2 - "Life without electricity"

Electricity is one of those technological inventions that God has helped humans to invent. Electricity, as the case is, has been a great blessing to humans everywhere in the world. Through the invention of electricity, many things have been developed which have eased our work, which has eventually been a blessing to humans.

But with all that we have achieved because of the invention of electricity, what if there was nothing like electricity? Difficult question to answer, right? Yes, it's actually a difficult question which the answer is somewhat difficult to provide.

To be frank, it would have been a difficult life without electricity. It would have been boring, imagine the entertainment and goodness we enjoy with our electronics. Watching TV, using our phones and other gadgets we make use of to ease boredom. Of course, there wouldn't have been phones talking about charging it or being on steemit.

It would have been a very primitive life without any developmental strides of any kind like we have today. Stress and suffering would have been imminent. Imagine if there were no blenders and washing machines, no pressing iron. Everywhere would've been greeted by darkness even if there would have been other sources of light. It would be a very big mess.

To ease life, in place of our electronic tools, we would have fallen back to primitive and manual tools.

Example:

• Box iron and charcoal would have been used for ironing clothes.

• Grinding stones, mortar and pestle and a grater will be used for grinding and blending food.

• Manual washing of clothes which I still do will still be done.

• For entertainment, there were village squares and joints where people went to be entertained by local entertainers in the time past. That would have been our source of entertainment in place of the use of TV's and other gadgets.

• There would have been no phones and computers for information dissemination, but letter writing would still make it possible.

• I would still have been a teacher reading books and using other research materials instead of using the internet for research. Other than teaching, I'll still be farming to engage myself and to get other means of earning income without using any gadgets or being on steemit.

Many things I would have done. After all, my grandparents and great-grandparents didn't experience digital life with the use of electricity like I do today, yet, they survived and still have a peaceable life.

Of course, I would cope a million times without electricity. Like I mentioned above, my great-grandparents survived it and I would have survived it. Currently, there are people in my village who don't make use of electricity, but they are still surviving.

We only enjoy the beauty and goodness of electricity because we just see it as part of our world. If they weren't available when we were born, we would have lived our normal lives without being used to electronic gadgets and electricity.
