Diogenes of Sinope was a great Greek philosopher known for his ungrateful attitude towards the kings and statesmen of his time. He lived like a beggar. Though his father was a banker, he was accused of making counterfeit money, leading to him and his son Diogenes being exiled.

This uprooting will change Diogenes' vision of life which was summarized as "I strive to make my life the opposite of everyone else."

He was a man without a home, not attached to the material possession of objects. He firmly believed that man should seek what is natural and not lose himself in hypocrisy and trivia.

Clark diagnosed Diogenes syndrome in 1975 to describe a behavioral disorder characterized by extreme neglect of personal and domestic hygiene.

The person suffering from this syndrome most often has a hygiene problem (they don't wash, don't cut their nails, or change their clothes) and completely isolate themself from society and don't feel ashamed or embarrassed about their appearance.

And in addition to this bodily neglect, they tend to accumulate useless objects in total disorder or perfect order (she doesn't wash the dishes, doesn't throw away the garbage, doesn't clean up), striving to live in a stuffy, foul place full of piled up things that can lead to dangerous infectious diseases.

This requires urgent intervention to help these people who do not recognize the problem. But the family must be a little more vigilant and help them to get rid of the useless objects and to consult a psychiatrist to get them out of this cynicism.
