My country is Nigeria which I am so proud of. Nigeria is a nice country to be which is a country that is full of so many mineral resources and natural resources. It is a country where most people wish to be because despite how hard things are going in Nigeria you people keep surviving and see hardships as nothing. It is a country where almost everything is taken to be jokes.

The history of Nigeria has taught me a lot of things about Nigeria and the world at large the key things it has taught me are Education and Hardships.

Education:

  • Pre-colonial Era: In terms of education, Nigeria had rich Indigenous education systems in which teaching ngs trade, community leadership, and farming was the system of equations that Nigeria was known for. It is a system of education that demonstrates the value of practical education rooted in Nigerian culture which I have learned a lot.

  • Colonial Era: We were once practicing education in a local way before the British introduced the Western education style in Nigeria, which was limited and unequal before. This has taught me how important education is in Nigeria as it is Western education that is capable of shaping Nigerian society.

  • Post-independence: Then despite the limited resources, Nigeria has built universities, Polytechnic, and colleges of education and educated its youth, showing resilience in prioritizing education for nation-building which I am a beneficiary.

Hardships

  • Civil War (1967 - 1970): The Nigerian Civil War taught the world about the devastating of political and ethnic divides but also highlighted the importance of reconciliation after the conflict to the world.

  • Youth Unemployment: Nigerians are full of creativity the creativity of Nigerian youth in tech, art, and business despite limited opportunities proves that hardship can inspire innovation when supported by the determination which Nigerians have proven.

  • Economic Challenges: Even though Nigeria is an oil-rich country, there is still a high level of poverty in Nigeria, corruption, and inequality demonstrating that resource wealth alone doesn't guarantee prosperity, it requires good accountability and governance.
