Assalamu-alaikum my dear friends. I am Lamia. And I am from Bangladesh. How are you my dear friends? I hope all my dear steemian friends are well and At this time Alhamdulellah I am also fine. Respected @deepak94 sir has organized a wonderful contest on the history of my country to participate in which I am presenting the history of my country to you.

My country of 1,47,570 square kilometers is called Bangladesh and I was born in this country. Since then I learned about the history of this country when I learned to understand and I got to know about the different history of my Bangladesh. The history behind our Bangladesh is quite terrible and heartbreaking which will hurt anyone's heart to hear because the fresh lives of lakhs of martyrs are behind the liberation of this country.

Before 1947 our Bangladesh was part of India and here total three countries were part of India. Bangladesh, India and Pakistan were the three countries of India and India was then under British rule. Then when the British were kicked out of our India, two fragmented states were created, India and Pakistan, then our Bangladesh was a part of Pakistan. Present day Pakistan was then known as West Pakistan and our Bangladesh was known as East Pakistan. East Pakistan and West Pakistan were one and united Pakistan then and we were living as part of East Pakistan.

However, the problem arose with the language movement of 1952 because at that time East Pakistan was ruled by West Pakistan. But then West Pakistan i.e. present day Pakistan our Bangladesh which was then known as East Pakistan tried to impose Urdu as the state language on us. In general every people love their motherland and mother tongue so we could not accept the fact that Urdu was imposed on us as the state language.

In 1952 when our east pakistan started language movement against west pakistan then west pakistan policemen started firing on our innocent bengalis and then many students like rafiq, jabbar, abul barkat, shafiur, salam got martyred there. When the innocent people and students of our country became martyrs of the language movement that day for the sake of the national language, since then our East Pakistan entered the field against West Pakistan and rejected all these imposed proposals by them.

After the language movement, when the Bangladeshi people started rejecting the various proposals imposed by Pakistan, they started torturing the people of Bangladesh and thus a liberation war was created. At one point the people of Bangladesh declared war against West Pakistan in 1971 to get rid of torture and oppression. After that history people all over the world know where our Bangladesh won freedom by fighting against Pakistan but had to pay the lives of 30 lakh innocent people and thus we got an independent state.

I invite some of my Steemian friends to participate in this contest : @jyoti-thelight, @drhira, @m-fdo, @jebanikajeba, @isfatema, @tutul350

This a great history about your contry you've discuss.

From your context, I've learnt that your country was part of India during British colonisation and it's interesting too here because my country Nigeria, British colonized us as well. We gain democracy 1960 while yours was earlier though your country was still under Pakistan after parting ways from India.

but gladly that your country took a bold step to getting what's right and gaining freedom from the torturing.
This really interesting and Good luck
