A Contest : What’s Your Choice : Money, Peace, or Happiness

Assalamu Alaikum all friends. Hope you all are well. By the grace of God I am also well. Today I am here to participate in a wonderful contest among you. That topic is what is my life choice. Thanks to this community moderator @alfazmalek for organizing such a wonderful contest. Several topics are mentioned here. I will try to answer each question correctly. So let's start and stay with me till the end.

What is more important in life – money or peace?

First of all, I am a Muslim. So from the point of view of Islam both peace and wealth are important but peace has the highest value. Peace of mind, peace of soul and family and social peace are given utmost importance in Islam. Our Creator said Remember Allah's heart finds peace in its remembrance. Wealth alone does not bring happiness or peace. Many rich people also suffer from emotional turmoil. True peace comes from being close to God with good character and righteous living.

Money has immense value in our life for survival. Money or wealth is not forbidden in Islam but earned by legitimate means and spent in the way of Allah is encouraged. So money is needed but peace is real wealth. Money is worthless if there is no peace. So the teaching of Islam is to remember Allah, do righteous deeds and achieve meaningful peace in life through Halal earning. I live to achieve these three goals.

Is a long life better or a meaningful life?

I think I will have to taste death one day. Because the creator said to be born to die. Meaningful life is more valuable from the perspective of Islam because a long life will not bring any good if it is spent in sinful or fruitless activities. Rather, even if it is for a short period of time, if one can gain the pleasure of Allah, benefit people and follow the path of justice, then his life is worthwhile. Our beloved Prophet Rasul SAW said if a person can do good deeds even in a short period of time by preaching religion, working for humanity. Then he is successful even if his life is not long. This must be believed.

Besides, if a long life is spent in wickedness, it may rather lead to punishment. Therefore, it is meaningless to just wish for a long life, but the teaching of Islam is to build a meaningful life through good deeds. A long life is valuable only when it is spent in the way of pleasing Allah. Or if the life is full of good deeds even if it is short then that is real success. This is our intention so that by the grace of Allah we may walk on the right path.

What would you choose first – a house, a car , job , or further education?

This is a very important question. I think all these four things are important for life from Islamic point of view but which one should be chosen first depends on the situation and need. In our Islam the highest importance is given to the acquisition of knowledge. Because knowledge is the main means of human development. Acquiring higher education makes it easier to acquire good jobs, better living conditions and things like houses and cars in the future. So it is wise to acquire knowledge first.

• Halal earning is very important after higher education. Because it is not possible to buy houses and cars without financial stability. If we can earn in honest way then we can bring welfare to family, society and ourselves.

• Having your own permanent residence is important. But for that it is important to arrange income first. Then the car is definitely useful but it should be a necessity and not a luxury. A job or a house is more important than a car so it will come last. So getting higher education first would be the best decision.

What would you focus on more – present happiness or future security?

Basically from the perspective of Islam both present happiness and future security are given importance but future security is the most important. Most of the people love the life of this world but they do not think that there is a plan of Hell and Paradise for them in the future. That's why you should think about future security rather than present temporary happiness. Just as economic stability, good living, and health awareness are important for the future security of the world, righteous deeds, obedience to Allah and good deeds are also necessary for the security of the hereafter.

Here are some things to keep in mind. The right path is to strike a balance between present happiness and future security. Make some savings with current income without splurging on unnecessary luxuries. Investing in the future, but taking fair advantage in the present. Doing deeds for the welfare of the world as well as the welfare of the hereafter. This is our real aim and this is our real target. Therefore, from an Islamic point of view, future security should be given more importance. May Allah grant us all understanding. This was all my opinion on this contest.
