Warm greetings my beloved steemians across the globe. It's another beautiful week. Happy Valentine's Day to everyone here, least I forget, today 14th February is my birthday and in that spirit I've decided to participate in this wonderful food diary game inorder to showcase the pattern of my cooking. Before I begin my writing I will say a big thank you to our dear admin @jyoti-thelight for her consistency.

Introduction

In my post today I will be showing the steps I took in preparing draw soup (Okro & okpono). Okro soup is very easy to prepare and with less cost, I cooked it frequently especially when I'm financially down, as it will not make me spent much money.

Firstly, I will start by putting down all the ingredients I used in preparing the okro soup.

Ingredients

1000585142.jpgIngredients
  • Meat

  • Cow skin (kpomo)

  • Periwinkle (shell)

  • Dried fish ( nsat iyak)

  • Okro

  • Ogbono

  • Pumpkin

  • Ozuza leaf

  • Fresh pepper

  • Red oil

  • Salt

  • Stock cube (Maggi)

  • Onions

Method of preparation

I started by washing my meat, cow skin, and dried fish into the pot, seasoned it with stock cube, fresh pepper, onions and salt then cooked it for about 10 -15minutes for the cow skin (kpomo) to tender.

While the meat was on fire, I pounded the fresh pepper, crayfish and set it aside, then I chop the okro into tiny pieces making it feel draw because I did not want to pound it.

I also sliced the floated pumpkin leaves and ozuza leaves and set aside too.

When the meat was soften enough, I added the quantity of water I needed and pour in red oil, stir it and allowed to boil for about 3-5minutes.

After 5 minutes of boiling I then pour in my grounded ogbono and periwinkle, stir it well again, then allowed it to cook for 5 more minutes.

After allowing it to cook for about 5minutes, then I put in the sliced okro into the pot, stir it all together and allowed it steam for 2 -3minutes.

Then after I put pounded crayfish and stir it well and added another stock cube (maggi).

The next thing I put was my sliced pumpkin leaves and stir it well and allowed it to simmer for 2minutes.

After that 2minutes I then put the sliced ozuza leaves, stir it all together and cover the pot slightly for 1 minutes to simmer.

After it has simmer for 1 minutes I put the soup down from the cooker and my soup was ready. I boiled water in the kettle and made garri (eba). I dished the soup and ate with my neighbors daughter that was assisting me with the cooking.
