What are the traditional outfits commonly worn in your country?
  • I am from Pakistan and most of the People wore Shalwar Kameez because of the tradition. As every tribe in Pakistan have their own traditions.Specifically I am from Patan tribe in Pakistan and our tradition is to wear Shalwar Kameez with Black Peshawari Chappal. And in cold weather we wore Shall above our cloths. And a big turban on our head.Even though you can also see the ex Prime Minister of Pakistan who is wearing a turban on his head with Shal Kameez and peshawari Chappal.Thats not style but its is wore by Pukhtoons more probably because of their Tradition.

Are there any dress codes followed in schools, workplaces, or religious places? Tell us about them.
  • Yes exactly their are some dress codes that are followed in schools, workplaces and religious places. In school only Pant Shirt is allowed other then this is not allowed in school as this are strict orders.Eventhough in my school I also wore Pant shirt.Every schools in Pakistans have different solour of uniform.Like in my school Forward Public School White Shirt with Black Pant is allowed along with the neck time. This is mandatory only and only for students. But for the staff their is no restrictions among the clothes. As they can wore Shalwar Kameez or Pant Shirt of any colour which they want. But here in Pakistan due to the tradition, most of the staff wore Shalwar Kameez.

  • At work places, workers are not restricted as they can also wore clothes which they want to wore like Shalwar Kameez. But if we talk about the worker/employees of Offices then they have ti wore Pant Shirt according to the company rule.As this is only mandatory for companies. Also most of the workers of the Restaurents are also free to wear any kind of cloths. But in some big Restaurents waiters have to wore White Shirt with Black Pant.

  • But if we talk about the religious places then here almost all the People Shalwar Kameez, as most of the people don't wore Pant Shirt etc in Religious places like Mosque/Masjid.As according to the Sunnah of our beloved prophet Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H) that avoid tight fitted cloths. One of the most prominent and well known hadith is "There will be among the last of my Ummah women who are dressed but appear naked"
    (Sahih Muslim 2128)

In your country, what type of dresses people wear on weddings including the dresses of bride and groom?
  • In wedding man wear Shalwar Kameez, Kurta and Shermani but more prominantely Shalwar Kameez. Also they wear a Black Waistcoats above Shalwar Kameez. They also wear Peshawari Chappal in weddings. Also few man wore a big turban with Shalwar Kameez and Peshawari Chappal which looks very cool.
  • The groom wear Shalwar Kameez and Waistcoat with Peshawari Chappal and Turban. As this is our tradition too but also some times Sherwani. But very few groom wore 3 piece suit.On the other hand if we talk about the get up of bride then the bride wore Long frocks with a lot of embroidery done on it.Also sometimes the brides also wore Laingas.

What is your personal favorite traditional or modern outfit, and why?
  • My personal favourite traditional outfit is Shalwar Kameez with waistcoat and Peshawari Chappal.I like this outfit because of our tradition and also it gives a good effect. Also I wore due to the Sunnah too. Also when their is summer then I wore cotton suit which is very soft and comfortable. On the other hand in winters I wore warm shalwar Kameez with Shall and Peshawari chappal as it keeps me warm too.I like Shalwar Kameez because it is a symbol of identity, modesty and comfortability and much more.
