Do you agree with the statement "Communication skill is the power"? Why or why not?

I came across a slogan in my school faculty of art. Failure to communicate leads to death in silence was the inscription on the communication art direction board.

We learn to speak by speaking. If you don't speak you won't learn to speak.

When we speak of communication skills it might not only be a scenerio of standing out in public to give a speech, in business communication is very powerful as help the marketer provide detail explanation of the product, if you are not able to outline the benefit of a product it makes it very hard to convince customers, customers who have bought similar product are similar will be so much inquisitive just to test your products viability

The day you make up your mind to tell your closet neighbour what is bothering you may be the day of your breakthrough. Living long is purely determine by communication.

Can you provide an example of situation where "Communication skill is the power"?

Let's draw our point from comparing doctor and patient, the reason why our pets die unexpectedly especially when the disease has a cure is because they are unable to communicate the area of pain concentration and it makes that very difficult for doctor with lesser year of experience.

I have come across a lot of medical movies, one of which I came in contact with is "The good doctor" a very educational Korean movie and in this movie I saw the effectiveness of the power of communication, each time a severe case comes in the doctor first will get a scan from a radiographer and display it using a projector and the case will be discussed thoroughly, different surgical pattern will be discussed and the likely problems that would be encountered in the course of surgery.

In the movie when the operation is carried out a lot of what was discussed were seen and because this were properly discussed possible solution were found.

Some historical examples where "Communication skill is the power" led to significant change?

When we speak we must be able to act by it, that is when the effectiveness comes in. Do you remember NELSON MANDELA speech in 1962 when he stressed out the word I AM PREPARED TO DIE, I believe he was very concerned in getting his people freedom and he went by it, as this spur up his desire to get the best for his people and despite the torture he stood his ground and won at last.

How can one improve their communication skills ?

We tend to speak more when there is so much upstairs, it is either you have been an inquisitive active listener or you read wide, our communication skills can improve when we use words that are common and we let our body language move concurrently to the words we speak, in communication learn to ask question as a speaker or give room for question because this can unravel some hidden point. Stand out maybe once in a while to speak till your communication skills improve, always use an example that is not referring to others so that the audience reaction may not lead you to forgetting what you wanted to say.
