I remain @nsisong2022 from Nigeria and I'm glad to take part in this educative contest. First and foremost I want to appreciate @Hindwhale community for bringing this topic at this moment where individuals felt injustice,thier right are withheld and to all the participants of this contest I wish all of us a success.

• What does gender equality entail, and what are the advantages?

Gender Equality is a human rights issue that means people of all genders have the same rights, opportunities, and access to society, regardless of their gender. It also implies that the interests, needs and priorities of all people are considered and that people are free to develop their personal abilities and make choices without limitations set by biased.

• Gender Equality prevents violence against women and girls as well as in the family, community, society and the nation at large.

• It's essential for economic prosperity.

• Societies that value women and Men as equal are safer and healthier

• Is gender equality crucial for all people, not just women?

Oh yes, gender equality is important for everyone, not just women. these means that it enable both gender to have equal opportunities and opinions in the society and every citizens has its own fundamental rights that should not be denied of.

• What are your thoughts on gender equality, specifically concerning the circumstances in your country?

My country Nigeria has a long way to go to achieve gender equality due to situation surrounding girl child, ladies and women. The form of oppression women pass through needs urgent attention despite the government and civil society advocating for equal opportunities and training for girls. According to OECD, Nigeria is among the 10% of countries with the highest levels of gender discrimination and the UNDP says it's among the countries with highest gender inequality in human development outcome.

• How to educate our children to understand this issue?

Educating children about gender equality can help them understand how they treat themselves and others.

Here are some ways to promote gender equality among children;

✓ Be a role model: This implies treating our children equally and objectively and there should not be preference over others siblings because at times most parents tends to love some children more than other siblings these particular act brings hatred, jealous which leads to conflicts and inequality.

Lastly, but not the least, parents should be able to talk to his/ her children about how to treat everyone fairly and equally, and discuss the consequences of children being bullied for being different. Explain that the world is made up of lots of people who are all different and that this is what makes the world so special.
