Steemit Engagement Challenge S6/W3: Express Your Special Moments Of The Day

Greeting

Hello everyone, fellow steemians in this great community, I greet you all and I hope I meet you all well as I believe you will accept me into your mist. I was invited by @udyliciouz to take part in this week engagement challenge and express my special moment of the day.

At first I gave thought to it and asked myself; what is my special moment? The reason I ask myself this question was simply because this week was full of stressful activities all through from early hours of the day till late hour. But then, sit back, feel relax and read on as I share with you what made my days a special moments irrespective of the stress.

Preambles
Prior to this day starting from Monday of this week, I had been very busy and occupied due to the job of supplying wood to a building site that I was opportune to handle. Because I seems to be the least person to have handle such a task, judging from the calibers of contractors who appears to be more qualified to have handle it than I, hence I have to give it my very best attention.

The Diary

The tasks took me across three different local government in the state namely; Uyo, Uruan and Essien Udim Local Government area of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. The essence of going this far was to get the best of the hard wood and in the expected sizes which is one of the core criteria. This is because, due to economic hardship experienced since the dawn of the novel Covid-19 pandemic, the cost of virtually everything is on the high side, and this forces the people cutting timbers in the forest to reduce the sizes of the timbers and increase the prices. So to get a complete size of wood will mean to place a special order and ready to pay the hick price as well.

My journey start from Uyo where I could not get the expected timber, due to reduction in size of the 2 x 2" x 12", 2 x 3" x 12" and the 1 x 10 x 12" sizes not to mention 2 x 4 x 18" rafter.

That then took me to Uruan.

There in Uruan we have the timber sellers who brought the timbers cut from the creek and bordering Cameroon and brings it in through the water ways.

At the market I got some timbers and load them for onward shipment to Uyo, where I will process them.

I then journey to Essien Udim were I will get the timber for 2x4x18" rafter. I find it difficult to get it though, but I was happy I got it at last. Load them and bring them back to Uyo.

While I was running around to get these timbers, my heart was busy beating with an accelerated rate what will happen to me if I do not get them to deliver on the expected date. It means that, those big guys who are waiting to see what I will bring out will surely make mockery of me and also engineered for the rejection of it. So each time the frighten spirit comes, I pour my heart to God in prayers, and the calmness set in.

As the processes is on, some of them have actually begin to see the handwriting of something good on the wall. They will sit and talk about it and I will pretend as if I am not hearing. One of them even complain of the 2x2x12" that some of it seems to bend, all I could say to him was to thank him for his observation and told him that I will do something about it.

The Special Moment

After buying, gathering and processing the timbers to the respective sizes and length, its now Friday, the day of reckoning, the expected delivery day that I will be facing the judges (my buyers). At this day my heart was floating between different opinions of different "what if". What if they say the sizes are not ok? What if they complain of the type of hard wood use? Upon all this, I tried to calm myself to the last moment.

I contacted the truck driver and negotiated the price with him. He charge me high because according to him, the woods are too big compared to the market sizes he use to carry. We finally agreed at a price and the loading commences.

After the loading we set to move, and I said a silent brief prayers to my God.

On getting to the site, I was a bit nervous as the loaders were offloading the woods.

To my greatest surprise, I noticed the site engineer was nodding his head in a sign of approval, it was at that time that I felt a bit composed. When the 1x10x12" was brought out, he smile at it. Everything was offloaded and there was no complain from anyone of the construction team. They were even happy because I added some extra in case of any changes. I then look up and said, God thank you, you are up there. You have silence and shut the mouth of the hungry lions like humans who were waiting to laugh at me.

Today, I am one of the happiest person on earth, and it is so timely to write in this engagement topic about my special moment.

I explore you fellow steemians to join me in giving thanks and praises to God for standing by me and seeing me through all the rigor of the supply, and silencing those who want the supply to have been given to them.

Thank you all as you read through and make constructive comments. Thank you Hind Whale Community for organising this engagement challenge which is so timely as if it was actually meant for me. God bless you all.

I remain @oasiskp.

Looking forward to other engagements.

I would like to invite my friends @bela90, @danuelatin and @saintkelvin17 to take part in this beautiful contest.
