Vanakkam Makkaley 🙏🙏🙏

Congratulations to the @hindwhale community for being selected for the steemit engagement challenge season 6.

Everyone has the best childhood memories. That is only because of the games we played with our friends at that age. We learned a lot while playing games. I think, Inspired by that now the play schools are running. We play in soil, mud, and rocks never worried about the climate. But today, this generation of children misses a lot of games that we enjoyed at that time. This contest will help parents to teach their children these games.

What outdoor games did you play as a child that aren't famous worldwide.png

For this particular contest, I saw more submissions have arrived. It shows how we enjoyed our childhood and how much we miss those days. I planned to write about some games, but already many peoples shared about those games. So I planned to share some other games which entertain at the same time educate children also. Let’s go back to the ’90s.

PALLANGULI.png

Game Theme

Pallanguli is mostly played by girls, boys also play this game. It is a board game, a wooden board with 14 cup-shaped pits. We use cowrie shells, tamarind seeds, or small stones to play. We use 146 counter shells for this game. This can be played by 2 players. The player distributes the shells in the pits in their turn. Once the player collects all the shells then they are the winners of the game.

Game Playing Method

A player starts by distributing the shells in all the pits. Then one player takes all the shells from one pit and distributes those shells in the pits in a clockwise direction. When the player runs out of shells, the next player starts distributing by taking the shells from the pit. When you reach the empty pit, then you can collect the shells in the next pit. In this way whoever captures all the shells is declared as a winner.

Benefits of this Game

This is a simple game, but this game teaches you to learn numbers and counting. You have to be very careful, when the player forgot to capture the shells from the pit, then you can collect those shells. That will be yours now. This improves your concentration level and makes you to focus on the gameplay.

KICHUKICHU.png

This is one of my favorite games and maybe a favorite por all the kids. Because this game is played on the soil. Every child like to play in the soil. This is a two-player game, such an interesting game too.

Game Theme

A player-A will hide the small stick inside the soil. The opponent (Player-B) should guess and place his/her hands on top of the stick. If the opponent guessed correctly he/she wins or else player-A wins the game.

Game Playing Method

For this game, we need soil and one small piece of stick. That stick can be anything like a match stick or broomstick. Mostly we use broomsticks. The player sits facing each face-to-face, then Player-A takes the stick and starts hiding in the soil, then takes his hands off. Then Player B will place his hands on top of the soil. Now player-A will remove the soil that is not covered by player-B hand. If he finds the stick, he wins the game. If the stick is under Player B’s hand then he will be declared as the winner.

It has Easy and Hard levels also. The above one is easy mode, the opponent has a chance to see where he is placing the stick in the soil. In hard mode, the opponent’s eyes will be covered by cloth. So they don’t know where the stick is. Only by guessing they can play.

Benefits of this Game

This game also improves concentration power and mental calculation.

Game Theme

Even now I used to play this game. Whenever I feel bored I will play this game with my son. This can be played by two or more players. What we need are 10 medium size sticks and 1 big stick. We use broomsticks for this, but now specially-made sticks are available in online to play this game. It shows how lazy people became.

IMG_20221122_153114.jpg

Game Playing Method

A player takes all 11 sticks and drops them on the floor. Then they should remove the sticks one by one without shaking the other sticks. Each small stick values 10 and the big stick values 100. Whoever with more points wears the crown.

Benefits of this Game

We need more concentration to play this game. It improves our visibility. And makes you free from hand shivering.

the end.png

We have a lot of traditional games which help to entertain and also educate. It also improves our creativity. It brings new friends every day. That helped a lot in our immunity system. And we lived happily and healthily. But now, the kids are so adapted to mobile phones and TVs. They didn’t want to spend time in physical games. It may look so much worse, but we are responsible for this.
Nowadays parents mostly not spending time with their children. Even if they get free time they were busy with their mobile phones. So, by watching these activities our children also follow the same thing. This is not healthy parenting. We should spend some time with our children and play with them. That will bring more activeness among the children.

Thankyou for reading my post. Your blessings will helps to all my success.

Se ven muy interesante y entretenidos estos juegos que nos compartes, está es una de las cosas que más me gustan de este tipo de concursos que nos permiten conocer la cultura de otros países, y en especial la forma en que se divertían en su infancia.

These are some of the games that I really enjoyed when I was little. But now very hard to find.

Thank you for inviting me. I hope the contest gets good support
