Greetings everyone,
I am @tripple-e
From Nigeria.
I trust you are all doing great, as for me I am fine too.
It is week three of "pick a word, paint a story" organized by @senehasa and three words has been given to us as usual to pick from. The words are:
"Sea
Home
and Joy".
All the words are unique and interesting to write about but I'm permitted to pick just a word; therefore I'll go for "Home".
My people used to say "There is no place like home, whether you are drinking only water or sleeping on the mat or floor, your home is your home because peace is guaranteed in your home.
Home can be a place of abode where we live and interact with our love ones.
Also a place where someone is from (place of origin) can be refer to as home.
A place where we are used to and got acquainted with.
That's why in any of the above definition of a home one can be seen to be very free to act and behave anyhow he/ she chooses to without feeling ashamed or embarrassed because the person is actually in his/her home.
Therefore any place you are free to be your real self without pretending or faking; I tell you that's consider your home as well.
For instance:
If you are visiting a friend or a relative of yours, they welcomed you and offer you a seat and added by saying "My dear feel at home". What this simply means is that they are pleased to have you around and also they want you to relax and be yourself, this is where you'll boldly pick up TV remote to change the channel 😀
They will entertained you by giving you something to drink or eat. My dear you've won their love.
Not the one they'll leave you in the sitting room and went into their room just to come back after 30 mins or 1hr to ask "Are you still here, I thought you left?🤣.
It is very clear that you were not welcomed there in the first place.
All my life I have never left my comfort zone; my home. I remember when I graduated from the university and I wanted to serve my country Nigeria under a scheme called NYSC -National youths service Corp. A mandatory obligation to carry out as a graduate for a year, whereby graduates are deployed to other states asides where they are from or school in order to promote inter state relationship.
Omg! When I got to Kwara state, I was like a new dog in a strange land, I wasn't comfortable at all. I became very ill because of their weather, the water, food infact everything, for that was my first time of going to such a place, Until I started to adjust and adapt to my new environment, I wasn't feeling at home for a whole one year.
Then I remembered one nursery song we used to sing when I was a kid
Oh my home
oh my home
When shall I see my home
Tanananananana
When shall I see my waiting home
I will never forget my home
It was until I got home then my mother prepared one of our special delicacies that's actually my favorite "Ekpang nkukwo" just to welcome me home, there and then I realized that really I was in our home.
My friends home sweet ooooo🤣🤣🤣
Regards

Me encantó leerte. Saludos.
