Introduction

Welcome to my blog. Today, I will be participating in the contest entitled "Express your special moments of the day."

In this article, I will be expressing the special moments of my day that is Friday, 9th December, 2022. That special moment is all about having a "successful job interview". Please read as I unfold my special moment.

My special moment of the day, A successful job interview"

Yesterday's event made my day very special, and I am still happy and thankful to God, the way it turned out.

How it all started

There was an advertisement about teaching job in a government school in my state which I and thousands of others applied. Names were shortlisted for stage one interview which I participated.

There came a second and final shortlisted list last week for the successful candidate to come for sightseeing of original credentials and oral interview which happen to be the final interview.

Early hours of the day

After taking care of my family and dropping the kids at school, I was ready for the interview which was scheduled to start by 9am.

As soon as I arrived at the venue, the head of civil service, Elder Jonny Akpadiaha was addressing the candidate about the documents needed and right behaviour each and everyone of us should have during and in the examination hall.

The venue for the interview was Idongesit Nkanga Secretary and a hall called civil service auditorium was where all the interviewers and interviewees were assembled.

After assembling all candidates in the hall, the oral interview started.

People were called out according to thier serial number in the final list and scores.

When it was my turn to be interviewed, two persons show up for my name.

Huh! I was shocked and scared that someone want to take up my place.

We were asked to bring our previous examination code and that was the thing that helps me get my place back.

The lady hurriedly mentioned her exam's code and it was checked using a laptop computer and it shows that she failed.

At this point I was a bit relieved. But they insisted that I should also give them my exams code to follow and check the database for who made it to the final stage.

I gave my exams code and it showed that I passed the previous examination that I was the one they invited for the interview.

I was so happy and all the nervousness seized immediately and I was ready for the interview.

So I moved over to the stage to be interviewed.

At the stage

Interviewers: What is your name?

Me: My name is Ekpe, Uduakobong Emmanuel

Interviewers: Give me all your original credentials. (Scanning through all the credentials, checking dates, years and signatures. Comparing the age in the date of birth certificate and confirming in the educational certificate if there will be any error.)
Okay, you can now have your certificate back. We are satisfied with your certificates.
What is your course of studies?

Me: Business Education

Interviewers: Give us the overview of business education.

Me: I explained to them the meaning, concepts and everything I know about business education.

Interviewers: Explain to us how you teach students act and practice of entrepreneurship.

Me: After explaining to them, how I can teach people how to practice entrepreneurship. I made them to understand that, I am a teacher in a private school and also an entrepreneur. I briefly told them about my Perfumes business, my fabrics business as well as being a blogger. They were amazed.

Interviewers: Do you mean, you produce the Perfumes by yourself? Or you just buy and retail?.

Me: I produce the perfumes by myself. I teach my students in the private school, how to produce it too and how to sew clothes. The lesson is free and I don't charge.
That is one of the ways I teach and can teach people entrepreneurship.

Interviewers: Explain to us how you can teach people in the rural area entrepreneurship, if you are posted to a school in a rural area of Akwa Ibom State

Me: Explain to them why people in rural area needs to start and run a business and thereafter explained to them how I can teach them entrepreneurial skill.

As I was explaining one of the Interviewers looks at her colleagues and gave a beaming smile.

Interviewers: Congratulations 🤝, we are satisfied with your certificates and the convincing manner you answered all the questions. It shows you are qualified for this job. Do have a nice day.

Me: Thank you ma'am.

Wow! I believe you followed through the interview process and how it ended.

I was so happy because they embarrassed so many candidate and even flung their credentials.

Conclusion

The interview was the special moments of my day. I have never attended such an Interview but in my first attempt, it came out to be successful.

I believe it was my God that helped my through all the processes, starting with sorting out of who was invited to the interview which two people showed up.
Some people were not attended to when more than one person answered for a particular name.
But I was favoured.
