Greetings, fellow steemians, kids, and parents ๐Ÿ™ welcome to my blog, and Happy New Month and first Sunday of the month to you all; special greetings to @Hindwhale Community for organizing this Contes, today I will be sharing with everyone how I prepared OHA soup differently unlike my usual style.

Ingredients

  • Cocoyam
  • Oha leaves
  • Meat
  • Thyme
  • Stockfish
  • Palm oil
  • Ogiri
  • Pepper
  • Onions
  • Maggi
  • Dry fish
  • Salt

Steps and procedures

Step1 Wash your meat properly and put it into a clean pot; wash the stockfish also and add it to the meat, then wash your pepper and onion then ground them together, pour it into the meat with some sliced onion, add thyme, Maggi, and salt, and allow it to steam for a few minutes before adding water to cook properly.

Step2 While the meat is on fire, you can use the opportunity to get the OHA leaves ready by removing them from the stick and washing them properly to remove sand and any dirt, after washing the OHA leaves you can use your hands to cut them into two or three,

Step3 Remember to check up on the meat while cutting your leaves and do not use a knife in cutting it, check the meat if it's almost cooked then wash the dry fish and add to it then allow it to cook together.

Step4 Wash your cocoyam and put it on fire allow it to cook properly, when it is cooked pill off the back of the cocoyam, make sure it is soft then pound it using a pestle and mortar add a little amount of palm oil.

Step5 The reason why palm oil is added is to allow a smooth pounding of the cocoyam, the cocoyam will be difficult to pound also won't be smooth if palm oil is not added while pounding the cocoyam.

Step6 Separate the meat from the stock then add the Ogiri to the meat stock along with some palm oil, cover up the pot, and allow it to boil then add the pounded cocoyam to the boiling meat stock, allow it to boil until it is smooth as shown in the image.

Step7 When the cocoyam is cooked and has become smooth like the one in the image then you can go ahead and add the OHA leaves and then stir properly, you can check if Maggi or salt needs to be added or not.
