Dead Bodies and Cross-Cultural Exploration

Prophet Adam A.S was the first human on earth. He had 2 sons, named Habeel and Kabeel. Due to some reasons, Kabeel had a grudge in his heart for his blood brother, and he killed him. It was the first murder of a human that happened on Earth.

As it was the first murder on earth, so he didn't know what to do next, how to dispose of the dead body.

Allah Almighty sent a crow on earth, which started digging through his beak. In the meantime, Kabeel started digging into the ground. He put Habeel's body inside it and covered it.

Inside, he felt bad that he didn't know what a crow knew, even though he was higher than a small crow.

Muslim Culture

Since then, Muslims have hidden the bodies of dead humans like that. They dig ground estimated 6 feet below. Perform ghusl to the body, hide in a white cloth, pray namaz for the dead, and with respect, bury a dead person.

Hindu Culture

In Hinduism, they burn the dead person with the belief that when any Hindu dies, their body is no longer physical, but the soul still exists within the body. So, according to their beliefs burning a dead body is the fastest way to release a soul from the body without any harm unless the body turns into Ash.

Indonesian Festival

In Indonesia, a festival after harvesting is held every year, mostly in August and September. When a person died, they didn't bury them or burn them. Instead of this, they place them in a resting place with some acids applied to the body.

Every year, they go to a resting place to pick up their dead relatives' bodies, wear new clothes, eat food with dead bodies, and enjoy all day. At the end of the day, they were placed again in a resting place. And the countdown for another 365 started.

This is how people treat dead bodies in their respective cultures and religions.
