How would you describe the average internet speed in your country? Is it equal to global standards or not?

Internet speed in Bangladesh is still far behind others. It can be 50 to 100 Mbps in cities and it’s a lot lower in the rural area.Net speeds for most rural areas float between 1 to 20 Mbps, which is much slower than in other countries with better internet. Mobile internet is fast in most place with 4G, but in busy places or during peak time, it slows down. This makes it difficult for services such as online government work, education or remote jobs.

First of all,I connected my device to the internet. Then I check my internet speed. I write on the search bar "Speed Test" on Google and went to websites like on speedtest.net or Fast.com. After website opened, I clicked on "Go" option. The test began shortly after that. After it finished, it displayed download speed, upload speed, and ping rate. They represent things such as how quickly I can download files, how quickly I can upload, and how quickly my internet responds.

How the slow internet speed can affect our personal and professional lives?

Effects of Slow Internet

Many problems arising in personal and work life are caused by slow internet. It also can mess up when I watch videos, upload pictures or videos on social media. Videos may take a long time for loading, it is frustrating. In online classes or virtual meetings the connection might break, making it hard to study or work.

Slow internet at work means you may get disconnected while doing video calls. you have to wait for long time to download and upload files or even fail to finish work on time if it’s freelance work. We all know when the internet is slow, things take longer, and productivity suffers.

When I upload pics on Steemit,if the Internet is slow. It takes long time for upload. It makes me frustrated.

We need to follow some important things to improve internet access in Bangladesh. 1st We should start spreading optical fiber networks in rural areas. With optical fiber people can get fast internet, like we do in the city. Secondly, we should start using 5G technology to make internet fast. Fast net willl aid in the development of the country’s digital services.

Mobile companies should also go further. They should put more towers and increase their bandwidth. We should provide people the right information to choose the best internet plans and also teach people how to use the internet in the right way. The internet service needs to be checked regularly for make sure that it is works good.

If we do these things,the internet will improve. It will assist Bangladesh to grow.
