Materials used for drawing

• Plain A4 paper
• Pencil
• Colours
• Eraser
• Sharpener

Step 1
I began by drawing drawing the two tomatoes. I first draw the full tomato and then the slice one.

Step 2
I draw the sepals or the green petals on top of the tomato. I drew that of the full tomato followed by that of the slice one.

Step 3
I coloured the full tomatoes. Here I used a mixture of red colour and orange colour

Step 4
I coloured the back of the sliced tomato. I also used a mixture of red colour and orange colour. I shaded the edge of the sliced tomato with a yellow colour to separate the back and inside of the tomato.

Step 5
Here I use both yellow, orange and red colours to beautify and bring out the real colour of the juicy part of the tomato, seed and placenta.

Step 6
At this stage, I used dark and light green colours to paint the green petals attached to the tomato. I also used my 12B pencil to mark the point of intersection between the two tomatoes and finally, I put a shadow under each tomato

HOW WELL I KNOW TOMATO
A tomato is a rounded or oval edible berry of the plant
Solanum lycopersicum. Tomato is very common and grown in almost all parts of the country. It can be yellow, orange, green, or reddish depending on its stage of growth.

Tomato is a common vegetable in Nigeria. I ate it tomato severally even yesterday. Tomato can be eaten raw or cooked. It is mostly used to garnish food like rice, noodles beans, vegetable soup etc. It is also used to prepare a soup called stew which can be used to eat white rice, boiled yam or potatoes.

Tomato now is expensive in Nigeria. Most people are finding it difficult to use tomatoes in cooking. In my area where I live a small rubber of tomato is N1500 which is equivalent to 5.42 Steem, coastard rubber of tomato is N6,000 which is 21.7 Steem and a big basket is around N100, 000 which is equivalent to 361.01 Steem.
