One Picture One Story Week #62; "A smile the most beautiful attire"
Once in the bustle of the city of Uyo, There lived a young lady named Uduak who was very vibrant and free spirited. Her smile was as radiant as the sun, always filled with warmth and joy.
Uduak had her own share of challenges, She wasn't the wealthiest neither did she have it all figured out but there was something captivating about her and that was the smiles she wore perfectly on her face at all times
One of the days , Uduak ventured to the market to get her house supplies as she was short of them. That day happened to be a major market day. As she was approaching the market , her smile became a source of strength and warmth to others, traders greeted her warmly, children waved at her with all manner of giggles and even strangers smiled back heartily at her
Uduak believed that giving a smile was free, effortless and was the most beautiful attire any one could wear
A certain young merchant Ubong, who deals on different kinds of dressing garment ranging from exquisite silk wears to embroidery jacket to different extravagant appliques and other accessories took noticed of her and wondered
Why she stood out from the others despite being plainly dressed.
Ubong quickly walked down to her and said " You are not dressed on anything i sell yet you radiates more than my exquisite silk", What is your secret? He asked.
Uduak smiled softly, and breathe these words out" it isn't about just what you wear but on how you carry your self. Wearing a smile on your face always is the most beautiful attire.
Ubong could not believe what he heard, and thought to prove her wrong so he offered her to wear a simple grey dress made by himself and join him at the market the next day.
(You guessed right !) As expected her smile pulled people to the stall not to admire the cloth she wore but to bask in her warmth and the joy she exuded. Ubong seeing all of this could only agree in the power of her belief.
Learning from such experience Ubong began to smile more often and told as many people that bought dresses from him to wear those dresses with a smile always and smile through every situation the pass through because smiling was the greatest adornment of all time.
