Hello, Steemians from all over the world. Greetings to you all. I trust you are all doing well. I'm very excited to join this contest today to talk about the picture attached to this post.
I thank our moderator @suboohi for putting up this contest
More often than not, I've heard about cases of students committing suicide or developing one mental illness or the other.
And you would begin to wonder why.
Being a student at the university has given me firsthand experience of what mental stress could look like and its causes.
Alas, being a student is no joke regardless of the institution.
There are so many things students have to put up with in the course of their educational journey. Some of these include;
Fear of failure, this one can be paralyzing.Fear of disappointing parents or sponsors, being kicked out due to poor performance, or fear of being looked upon as failure by fellow students.
Another one is the lack of resources or sponsorship and coping with the high cost of living today. This is a huge discouragement to students and brings mental stress.
This has been one of the things that gives me mental stress. Especially, finding myself in a state where everything is so expensive.
Basic things like water and shelter are so expensive that many can not afford them. This is a trait of students' mental health.
Adaptation to a new environment or culture, demanding academic workload, family crisis, and many more stand as a threat to a student's mental health.
Nevertheless, I believe that certain things can be done to aid the healthy mental health and well-being of students.
Proper and effective orientation on mental health in schools.
Ignorance is a disease so they said. Educating students about the cause, symptoms, and management of mental stress can really be helpful. So many students are suffering from depression, yet they don't even know until it becomes very critical. Students need to know how to cope with and maintain healthy mental health regardless of what is going on in their lives.
Encouragement to seek help from counselors who are ready to help out.
Financial Support to needy students.
Developing timetables that are not so clustered with academic activities.
Inclusion of extracurricular activities like picnics, sightseeing, visits, and clubs like singing, dancing, etc to help students heal from stress.
These and many more will really help to promote healthy mental health and well-being.
Thank you very much for reading my blog.
I invite my friends @max-pro , @impersonal @goodybest, @pandora2010 to join me in this contest

You are right, being a student is not a joke, sometimes it could be that you are facing challenges on the courses you are offering and sometimes it could be that you are going through financial problem in school, any of the above is not an easy problem to students and my joy for you is that you were able to scale through despite you own challenge. I wish you success in your entry
