The rescue of my neighbor's child |
---|
On that hot after, the three young kids named Osita, Mike, and Mary decided to walk home after school when their father could not come early to take them home. Home, they reasoned, was not too far from away.
They were aged nine, seven, and five. On the way home, through a very busy Okata Street in Osolo, they witnessed the sack of their lives.
The children were too hungry and tired to observe two well-dressed gentleman in dark sunglasses who were learning in a sleek Jeep back beside a shop on the street. Osita and Mike, both holding Mary by hand, were about to walk to a shop to buy some biscuits when one of the men, in a move as swift as that of an eagle, swooped on the little Mary and carried her off and into the Jeep.
Mary cried, kicked, and tried to bite the kidnapper, but he was too strong for her. Osita and Mike screened at the top of their voices.
People gartered and joined Ed in screaming, but the kidnappers zoomed off. Some motorcyclists, popularly known as "okada riders," pursued the kidnappers.
The children ran home to report to their parents when the Jeep had gone out of sight. Mr. and Mrs. Kema were shocked to hear the news of their kidnapped child from other children.
They immediately called the police, using their mobile phone to inform them about it before driving off to the nearby police station.
How Mr. Kema drove safely to the police station was a miracle because he did not observe any of the traffic rules.
He drove dangerously to avoid wasting more time. By the time they got to the police station, the kidnappers had already been arrested, and we're in handcuffs.
What a miracle!! One of the men at the scene of the kidnapping had made a swift call to the police.
The police swing into action immediately. They put up a roadblock and stopped the kidnappers from moving further.
The kidnappers fired bullets, but the police fired more. The kidnappers were later overpowered and arrested.
At the police station, they looked frightened and were begging the police officers and Mary's parents for forgiveness. Mary, frightened and feverish, was handed over to her parents, who felt happy and grateful to God for her rescue.
They learnt from the police officers that the kidnappers had put little Mary in the boot of their Jeep, thinking that no one would know they had taken a child.
They had bound and gagged her with a scarf so that she would not be able to cry out for help; it was indeed a great miracle that little Mary was rescued.
The parents have now resolved to get to the school before closing time so that they can always take their children home themselves.
