Homosapiens always tried to build their settlements around natural fresh aquatic reservoirs. The romance between homos and rivers rooted deep in all historic eras. The Niel river, Saraswati, Sindhu, the Tigris and Al Furat give birth to the grandeur of Egypt, India Valley, Harappan, Mesopotamian, Sumerians, Babylonians, Assyrians civilizations. All these civilizations formulated different methods to use water for their betterment.

They developed a canal system and had fights on it. Emperors of the Sumarian civilization took pride in building such a system. They ordered them to make their portraits which reflected their contribution to water projects. Their whole life events, their religious norms, their socioeconomic culture grow and even their calendar relied on the timetable according to which rivers flowed.

Time has passed and man learn better techniques to store and use water, but the priorities are fixed with respect to needs and access.

According to Sibt Hassan, "in known human history man used technology which he learned in stone age, up to 18th century and almost five thousand years man didn't provide any significant thrust in it." But the revolution in technology which we face today brings luxuriousness, costed us on the destruction of the natural environment. Water is one of the major targets of pollution. The unwise use and contamination imparted terrible effects. It is now a common saying that a significant cause which can trigger another world war is "water".

Talks and plans were made, but on practical grounds we did nothing. Even in routine use, we emphasis on water saving, but when we open a tab and start brushing our teeth, we don't bother to think about how many liters of clean water are transferred to sewerage. We are running a race with full enthusiasm towards our devastation. And at the wining point, only regrets with thirst will meet us.
