Hi guys Assalam u Alikum, I’m back on steemit to participate in the contest “Fasting in Ramadan” that is arranged by @abdullahw2 in the community “Steem for Pakistan”.I hope you will appreciate my post.

Dear friends Ramadan is the Holy month that comes once in a year.This is the month of blessing.This month teaches us alot of lessons regarding taqwa and believe.So let’s move to the core of this contest.

The main purpose of fasting in Ramadan

The main purpose of fasting is to gain taqwa.

Narrated Abu Huraira: I heard Allah's Apostle saying regarding Ramadan,

“Whoever prayed at night in it (the month of Ramadan) out of sincere Faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven”

Book:Sahih Bukhari,Hadees No: 2008

In Ramadan muslims gain spiritual strength and strong beliefs.

  • In ramadan muslims enjoy offering prayers.
  • Muslims do fasting and understand the hunger of those human that can’t eat food and remain hungry.
  • In Ramadan reading Quran makes eternal peace.
  • Through charity Muslims seek forgiveness for their sins.

Fasting benefit a person spiritually and physically gains

There are a-lot of benefits of fasting.

Spiritually Benefits

  • Self Awareness
    Fasting makes a greater understanding of personal attitude including thought emotion and behavior.
  • Humility
    Fasting cultivates humility for the things in life.
  • Discipline
    Fasting build self discipline, and make positive changes in lives.
  • Detachment from fake world
    Fasting helps people from materialistic desires and put focusing on spiritual growth.

Physically Gains

  • Weight Loss
    Fasting helps to weight loss due to low calorie intake.
  • Improved Insulin
    It helps in reducing the risk of diabetes by providing insulin to the body.
  • Improved Mental health
    Fasting helps in improving mental health and relax the mind with peace.
  • Improved Immune Function
    Fasting helps in regulating the immune system and improve overall health.

My favourite Sehri and Iftar Recipes.And their benefits

Sehri Recipes

  • Paratha
    To provide energy for a whole day I consume one and half paratha with lassi (Keeps body hydrated).
  • Yoghurt
    It makes the digestion process more efficient and prevents from digestion problems.
  • Egg
    To gain enough protein I use egg during sehri.
  • Vegetables
    Dietary supplements are essential so I add vegetables in my sehri diet.

Iftar recipes

  • Dates
    First thing to take during iftar is dates.It provides instant carbohydrates and calories to the body. It also contains dietary fibres.
  • Lemon water
    It’s local name is shikanji. It maintains the sugar levels of body and keep body hydrated.
  • Samosa and pakora
    These are the must things in ramadan because of their taste I use them in if taar.

  • Fruits
    Apple and guava are my favourite fruits that I consume during iftar. They provide me dietary fibres and improve digestive function.

The things which we should do or should not do while fasting

Things to Do

  • Pray and Recite Holy Quran
  • Give Sadka and Zakat
  • Eat balanced diet
  • Don’t abuse

Things to Avoid

  • Avoid Overeating in Iftar
  • Avoid wasting time on social media
  • Don’t tell a lie
  • Avoid skipping suhoor
