Greeting
After the rain, the sky was cleansed, but there was mud on the ground everywhere. In a Palestinian refugee camp, where small tents were temporary roofs of life, two girls were standing in their hands. Their feet were being trapped in the mud, but there was a strange light in their eyes - a hope, a belief that these difficulties are not forever.
Aisha and Maryam
Aisha and Maryam were two friends. Both belonged to families who were expelled from their homes due to the devastation of war. Their parents saw their homes demolished in front of their eyes, but they tried everything possible to see a smile on the faces of their children.
Aisha's tent was in a corner of the camp, which was completely submerged in water after the rain. His mother had been dragging the mud overnight, but by morning the situation had worsened. When the sun came out, Aisha pulled her feet out of the mud and ran towards Maryam tent.
A new mornings
The situation was no different outside the tent of Maryam. She, along with her brother, was trying to remove the mud around the tent. As soon as Aisha arrived, Mary smiled at her. The two girls raised their hands towards each other and firmly held each other's hand.
"The rain stops, now we can play for a while," said Maryam as if she wanted to forget this difficult situation.
"Yes, but my clothes have been wet," Aisha said, pointing to her wet foot.
"So what happened? The sun will teach them!" Maryam laughed, and both girls jumped into the mud.
Face difficulties.
But there was no smile on the faces of their parents. The rain had already spread diseases, and many children had high fever and quick diseases. Drinking water was also added to the mud, and it was difficult to reach the medicine.
Aisha's mother had some dry bread on the stove, which had survived the rain. Maryam mother came to them and said, "Aisha's mother, we need some help. Ahmed's nature is very bad. Do you have any medicine?"
Aisha's mother shook her head with regret. "No sister, where will you get the medicine here? We have to get to the hospital, but the route in the water and the mud is closed."
The ray of hope
It was noon, when a rescue vehicle entered the camp. It was sent by a non -governmental organization bringing food and medicines to help refugees. The children shouted slogans, and everyone ran towards the car.
Aisha and Maryam also lined up. When his number came, a rescue worker smiled at his wet clothes and said, "You are both brave girls! Take this, dry clothes and biscuits for you."
Both girls happily took gifts and looked at each other. "We said that all will be fine?" Mary said.
Aisha smiled and shook her head, "Yes, but we have to make a promise."
"What?" Maryam asked surprised.
"We will grow up and settle this land again. We will go back to our homes one day, and then we will never have to stay in the tents!"
Maryam held Aisha's hand even more firmly. "Yes, that's our promise!"
The sunlight was shining on the mud, and there was a freshness in the air. Despite the difficulties, a ray of hope was alive in every heart.
