Ada grew up in a small town at adua village, she was the first child of her parents, she had three siblings. Ada was a very lively and intelligent girl in the class, everybody envied her intelligence, she usually bagged all the awards in her class, she was exceptionally beautiful.
But after her secondary school everything changed, the once brilliant and smart kid became a dull and shy kid. She was battling with inferiority complex and low self esteem, everyone wondered why because the switch was so fast, she felt like she wasn't good enough and that people were laughing at her. This made everyone wonder what happened because she couldn't speak to anyone, even her best friend. She left everyone in suspense or should I say ghost mood because her silence was affecting everyone else, she was the life of the home and the most active child.
She finally got admission to study Radiography in the University of Uyo and she was happy, she prepared towards travelling and finally traveled to school. In university she was quiet and not friendly especially around guys, she hated boys so much that she never had a male friend.
Ada became a devoted Christian and joined a fellowship in school, she still didn't associate with anyone, she would just go to church and go back to her house, she had no friend. She performed well academically but her social life was poor, she made good grades and her parents were happy and the totally forgot to ask persistently what changed their daughter.
Ada graduated with good grades and got a job at the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, she was a smart radiographer and people admired her for that, she got recommendations from far and wide. Nobody really saw Ada excited because she was just always there, just quiet and dull but very smart especially in her career.
Jude fell in love with Ada and tried drawing closer to her but Ada turned him down, he persisted and finally Ada let him in because she needed a friend as she felt alone. Jude loved Ada, but felt like Ada wasn't giving her all. He tried communicating how he felt to Ada but she said that's how she is. Jude did all he could to make Ada happy but to no avail. After dating for 5 months and never saw her cheerful, he decided to break up with her because he didn't feel loved. He knew something was wrong but he couldn't place it.After the break up message, Ada cried and couldn't hold herself, she felt that she let her past ruin her present because she loved him but couldn't express herself as she was hurt.
After two weeks, she couldn't get a grip of herself and had to go see him, on getting to Jude's house, he reluctantly let her in and asked her what the problem was, she started by apologizing for not being able to reciprocate the love as much as she wanted to. Jude was still listening because he wanted to know why, ada broke into tears, Jude drew closer to her and asked what the problem was, Ada said she hasn't been able to tell anyone even her parents because she feels worthless, he insisted on knowing because he was certained she had a problem.
After much pleading from Jude, she opened up a secret that she promised to take to her grave, she told Jude she was raped at home by her uncle, who came to visit the father, she narrated how she was cooking when the man came around and she said her dad was not home and he confirmed he was aware. Before she knew it he covered her mouth and tied her eyes with black clothes, she didn't know where she was taken to but she knew he took advantage of her, Ada in tears tried explaining that she couldn't scream or see but all she could feel was pains all over her.
She explained how she was traumatized by the experience and felt useless, she told him how she switched from being a lively child to being an introvert, she felt nobody really cared about her. Jude understood why she was always so responsive to a touch, because each time he tried to touch her she would begin to shiver and her heart beat will increase rapidly, he avoided touching her because of that even though he couldn't explain why.
After narrating her story, Jude promised to help her out as he concluded she was battling with a whole lot, he booked a therapy session for her the following week and she attended all her sessions and gradually healed. She was also told to tell her parents so as to heal completely because she was holding a grudge against her parents and she couldn't explain why. The following week she travelled and informed her parents and they were so sorry, the felt so bad and the mother apologized for neglecting her and putting her work before her children.
Gradually Ada healed completely and Jude stood by her to fasten her healing process, their bond grew even stronger and stronger. They eventually got married after 4 years of dating and the marriage was the best ever in her town. She lives happily after, withholding no guilt nor pain but learned lessons as she never left her children at home alone but employed a trusted maid to cater for them.
