The Daily Diary : 27th August 2024 | The chaos of change

Hi everyone :)

Hi all, hope you all are fine. So it is good to being writing my daily diary after such a long time. I must admit I’m very tired at the moment, today was very intense for me. Recently I start sleeping at such odd hours that it can be compared to usually waking up hours. The rationale for this is that I have been living at my parent’s house for a long time and am expecting to move to my husband’s house soon and just chilling here as my will. For me it’s been a full rollercoaster, departing from my parents and moving far away isn’t always a simple and normal because of many emotions. Anyway, let me bring you close to the actual diary. :')

As I told you above my routine, I woke up late today because I did not go to sleep until rather early this morning. I am happily typing this as my university life has come to an end a few days back, all by Allah’s grace. I feel relieved from stress, from the responsibilities and deadlines which have been the part of my life for the past four years. On the other hand today I had to visit the university to get clearance and to get my transcript as well.

I booked a ride through Yango, as I usually do for convenience, and headed to the university. Once there, I went to the student affairs office to ask about the clearance procedure. They guided me, so I bought the necessary forms and began filling them out. I returned to the office to submit the forms, but the person I needed to hand them to wasn’t there. After waiting for a while, he finally showed up and told me that I’d need my transcript before proceeding. So, I rushed to my department to get it. Unfortunately, despite the transcript being ready, they told me I couldn’t have it today and asked me to return another day. As always, dealing with university formalities can be exhausting, and I left without completing anything. I’ll have to go back again in a few days.

Then, I went to my in-laws house to take my luggage as I had been frustrated due to that incident. When I got home I began packing as well, because I am a little concerned about my bags being over the allowed weight. Although I have 11 days to pack, I wanted to start early to get an idea of how much I need to adjust. I’m allowed to take two 28 kg bags and a 7 kg hand-carry. The packing took up my entire evening and night, and I didn’t finish until 1 a.m. Despite my efforts, both bags are currently overweight, so I’ll have to gradually reduce them over the next few days. But at least the hard part is done!

I also purchased 100 balloons, cards and foil balloons with the words ‘Happy Anniversary’ for a special surprise that I have planned. We have been married for a year now and the first year anniversary is coming. I have also done some packing of gifts for my husband. That is the gift wrapping technique I learnt from YouTube shorts; you probably think I’m giving him a paper shirt. All I had was some tape to hold it in place and so it is a little sloppy but I know that he will understand what I was trying to do.

For dinner my mother prepared a tasty meal and then I tidied up the mess that I have made during the day. Now I am relaxing while writing this post.
