The Pasta of Every Day

Greetings Chefs!
Today, I am pleased to participate in a contest organized by @lirvic, where we are to share our everyday pasta, how we love it, what we accompany it with and the recipe on how to prepare it.

Pasta has different types and shapes and are all prepared differently. Everyone has their own preparation method on how to make pasta. Pasta is one meal that is very simple to prepare anytime of the day.
I will use the contest tips to make my entry nice to read.

How do You Love Your Pasta (Long Or Short)?

Yes, I love pasta and enjoys it when it is short but not extremely short. Going through the stress of twisting my pasta with fork always makes the meal boring and tiring to eat. I rather break my long pasta (spaghetti) before cooking. I love my pasta soft but not completely soft, so I tend to monitor the quality of water I'm putting in an interval.

What I Usually Accompany my Pasta With

I like it when pasta is prepared and served attractively. For jollof pasta I usually accompany it with sausage, egg or fish or vegetables like; green beans, cucumber, carrot and sweet corn. If it's just white pasta served with stew, I accompany it with beef or chicken.
I also control the way I consume pasta because it makes me fat. Pasta is one of my best food but I control myself not to eat more than twice in a week.

Here's one of my pasta recipe;

Ingredients used
  • Pasta (spaghetti)
  • Fresh pepper
  • Maggi
  • Onions
  • Curry
  • Tomato paste
  • Vegetable oil
  • Dried fish
  • Egg
  • Salt
Preparation Procedures

Step 1: parboil the pasta by boiling hot water first, break long spaghetti into three and put it in the pot. Filter the water out and rinse the starch out a little.

Step 2: set hot oil to heat up, add tomato paste and let it cook for 3 minutes.

Step 3: Add fish, onions and other ingredients. Cover the pot to cook for at least 5 minutes.

Step 4: check the water quantity, taste and pour the pasta. Stir and cover the pot and monitor till the water dries.
