I hope everyone is well and enjoying their lives. As we share our dishes and recipes here, I have also brought a simple recipe here to make a sweet dish. That dish which we often get from the market and shops. Often children also eat it and what we call Gachak. In the Pakistani language, it is called Gachak and in English, it is also called Brittle.
Gachak / Chickpeas Brittle Recipe
You can add as many things as you want to it because whatever you have in mind, will be prepared as it is. So I have some things that I will add to it, and all those ingredients are below.
Ingredients
Ingredients | Image's |
---|---|
Jaggery | ![]() |
Sesame Seeds | ![]() |
Raisin | ![]() |
Roasted Chickpeas | ![]() |
Fennel | ![]() |
Oil | ![]() |
These are all the ingredients. You can take all these ingredients according to your needs. Use these ingredients according to the amount of things you want to make. You can use two kilos of jaggery, or you can use half a kilo, that is, use as much as you need.
Process
Now let's see how to prepare it, how we will prepare it, for this, first of all, we have to take a pan, cut our jaggery into small pieces and add it to it and we have to add only half a cup of water because the jaggery is already prepared when we heat it, it melts like water, so we have to add only half a cup of water and as usual, we have to add jaggery as much as we need.

Now we have to heat it properly and heat it for long, enough that the jaggery powder mixes well with the water.

When with water, keep heating it and add all our ingredients at the same time. We are using fennel because it gives a good taste and creates a good aroma, so now we will add fennel to it first.

As we add things to it, we will keep stirring it so that the things inside it are mixed well. Now we have to add raisins accordingly, we can also add them as per our usual requirement.

Now we will add roasted chickpeas to it. You can add roasted chickpeas whole or you can grind them into small pieces or you can also make powder. Add it in the way you like. I have added some whole and some powdered here. I have added them in a mix.

After adding all the ingredients, now it's time to bring a simple recipe here and they are also good for health. We are making this thing so that it gives us something, so we are adding dry fruits to it, and we will also add three to four tablespoons of sesame seeds to it.

Finally, now we will add desi ghee or mustard oil to it. The advantage of this is that when it is in any vessel, these things do not stick together.

After adding all the ingredients, now we will mix it well and keep heating it on low flame. If you want to make it very hard, then keep it on high flame for a long time. If you want a little soft, then heat it for about 10 minutes and then take it off.

Now take any large pot in which you want to take it out, then first apply oil to the bottom of this pot. The purpose of applying this oil is that when we take it out of this hot pan and put it in it, as long as it is cool, it will not stick to our pot. As soon as we cool it down, we will eat, and then it will come off easily. Tock to our pot.

Thus, finally, we have our Gachak ready. It is very tasty and it is usually made in the winter season, when it is the sugarcane season, because at that time fresh jaggery is prepared and this Gachak you people will like it too.
