Today I am here to participate in the Contest "I love potato" organized by @"crismenia" in Steemit Iron Chef community.
First of all I would like to thank @"crismenia" for presenting such a beautiful contest for us. Today I would like to present my kid's favourites recipe "frenchfries" in this contest and hope you all will enjoy it.
First of all i want to talk about potato with all of you 🙂
potato :
Potato is the most popular and most used vegetable in the world. Potato is grown all over the world, but its origin in India is South America.
Potato is rich in nutrients, its main nutritional element is starch.
Potato contains vitamin C, B complex, and iron, calcium, magnesium and phosphorus elements.
Soda, potash and vitamins A and D are also found in sufficient quantities in potatoes.
Apart from this, potato has many medicinal properties as well as beauty enhancing properties. For example, if any part of the skin gets burnt, then applying crushed raw potato on it immediately gives relief.
The juicy pulp or paste of potato also helps in getting rid of wrinkles, age spots and improving the complexion of the skin. Due to being so beneficial, I and my family like potatoes.
Every day some potato recipe is definitely made in my house, be it a vegetable or a snack. We can prepare many types of dishes from potatoes.
Pakoda can be prepared by cutting raw potatoes and mixing them with gram flour. Potato raita can be prepared by mixing curd in boiled potatoes. Potato chaat also tastes very delicious. And spicy kachori or potato paratha can also be prepared by mixing spices in boiled potatoes. Many different types of snacks can be prepared from both boiled and raw potatoes.
Today, I have prepared both potato curry and snacks.
In snacks, I have prepared French fries. Which are very easy to make, and taste very delicious.
To make this recipe I have used some of the ingredients kept in the house.
Ingredients:
Raw potatoes,
Oil for frying,
And chaat masala.
Preparation:
First of all, I washed and peeled the raw potatoes. Then I cut them into thin and long pieces.
After washing the potatoes once again, I took some water in a bowl, put the potatoes in it, added salt and left it for half an hour.
Method:
After half an hour, I put oil to heat in a pan. And then drained all the water from the potatoes and dried them by wiping them with a clean kitchen towel.
When the oil was hot, I put the potatoes in the pan for deep frying.
When they were cooked a little, I took the potatoes out of the oil and let them cool.
When they cooled down, I put the potatoes back in the oil and fried them until they became crispy and red.
This way I prepared potato finger chips. They were very tasty. Then I sprinkled chaat masala on them and served them with tomato ketchup.
