"Recipe of the Day, Week No. 26: (Testy Chickpea curry and rice ) 20,July 2024

Hello to all my steemian friends, and my heartfelt respectful greetings to all the seniors of the Iron Chef community.

First of all, I am very happy to tell you all that I have joined this platform just a few days ago,

That is why today again I am sharing my post with all of you.

On 18 July 2024 morning I felt like making chick peas and cumin rice for lunch.

And I will share the recipe of chick peas and cumin rice with all of you.

Thinking about this, I soaked the chick peas in the morning.

After four-five hours, when the chick peas were soaked and swelled, I gathered some ingredients.

Ingredients:

1 teaspoon tea leaves

Some whole spices (1 big cardamom, 2 cloves, 5 black pepper, 1 small piece of cinnamon and a bay leaf).

2 onions, 2 tomatoes, 2 cloves of garlic, a small piece of ginger, 1 green chili and some simple spices.

Method:

First of all I put the soaked chickpeas in a pressure cooker,

Then I took a mesh basket and put whole spices and tea leaves in it, closed it and put it in the pressure cooker with the chickpeas and also added a teaspoon of salt.

Then I closed the pressure cooker and put it on the gas to boil.

Now I chopped the onion into big pieces and fried it in a pan by adding some oil.

When the onion became golden, I took it out in a mixer jar and ground it. And after grinding, put it back in the pan.

Then I chopped ginger, garlic, green chili and tomato into big pieces and put them in the mixer jar and ground them.

Put this paste in the pan and let it cook.

Now I added salt, red chili powder, coriander powder, some garam masala[all spice mixture] and other spices to it.

And fried the spices well and cooked them.

Now I cooked rice in another pressure cooker by adding cumin seeds and whole spices.

After the chickpeas were boiled, I added the prepared onion tomato paste to it,
and cooked it till one whistle came.

This way I prepared very tasty chickpeas and rice.
