Hello! steemit iron chef friends and beyond. Good day everybody, I have red through this week contest in this community and of course, it has an interesting topic "the Christmas meal in my country. And I will not delay to put together my own ideas as it is in my own country here.

Welcome everyone we are here with a new contest, easy, simple and this time we want to welcome you to a very special time Christmas, a time of family togetherness and parties so we will address a topic that I'm sure many will enjoy it is about Christmas Food.

Meal is the food we eat every day and time, it comes in varieties, where school of thought talked about 6 classes of food that those foods in content, are qualified to be called meal i.e for having the required diet there in.

Meal cooked and served for consumption, can be totally common or commonly prepared and can be special or specially prepared depending on the occasion it's meant for.

Meals are cooked, prepared and garnished with a lot of ingredients that supplement the nutritional content of the meal itself.

Some food such as yam, rice, beans, plantain, potatoes, cassava etc are all used the preparation of our daily meal garnished with lot of ingredients and as well in the various styles of cooking.

The way we cook, varies from country to country the style and food type as well, some tribe have special food food special events like the subject matter Christians while some, has a special way of preparing any food to match such special events.

It's Christmas celebration time, and it's fast approaching, according to this contest, it's special events and celebration that unites and bring family members together.

Therefore, among those afformationed food one, is generally selected in this part of the world in meal preparation when it comes to a great celebration such as Christmas. And the food selected among all, is "Rice" this food rice is generally recognised in Nigeria to be used throughout the country in every special occasions it comes first others follow.

In fact 98% is consuming rice in this country, this is why Inspite of foreign and locally produced rice, the rice is often costly for its recognition.

If anyone host party without cooking rice for people or using rice in meal preparation, such party is not recognised.
Rice in this part of the world is like water, they say it has no enemy to us.

Talking about meals, obviously, before thinking or involving celebration, or special events, meals has always bring families together and does same in situation of special celebration and events such as this Christmas.

In my country Nigeria here, the celebration is not quiet different from how other parts of Africa celebrate theirs in terms of food. We actually and almost generally use rice in meal preparation In a special celebration like Christmas. in ordinary days, it might be cooked as jelof, Nigeria jellof rice but during Christmas like this, it's prepared making its stew different garnished with surplus meats, either cow, goat, foul meet, depending on hand reach.

Because of the special ways it's been prepared during this celebration, families eat it together with a great recognition that is a special day.

It doesn't mean that it's a taboo preparing rice this way in the ordinary days, but the emphasis here remained that the Christmas or other special celebration is time devoted cooking and preparation.

Rice

So this is the only recognised meal in this part of the world. Some people prepare it jelof but very rare instead the rice is cooked separately after thorough washing and then cook the stew separately and in the end, dish them out into separate plates for collective eating majorly.

As a special day the Christmas celebration, animals are being slaughtered such as cow, goat, fouls and so on except for some tribe like mine, can never use animals like dogs 🐕 or cats 🐈 or pig for a big celebration like this though hitherto, I haven't verified the reason behind that.

This big celebration Christmas, where rice is used to prepare meals, the meal is carefully, and specially prepared to match the special day and ensure that the rice stew is jam-packed with surplus meats.

With this, family will eat together, party together with great joy, fulfillment and happiness in remembrance of the birth of Jesus Christ. CHRISTMAS.

Thank you very much I appreciate you.

I think the reasons why christians don't use pigs and dogs you mentioned above for celebration is because the bible mention them as an unholy.
I wish you good luck bro

Yes you are right this must be the reason for that thank you.
