Hello Everyone !

I am happy to join this contest, "In your kitchen, how do you use it dry or fresh?" 🌿 organized by @mvchacin in the Steemit Iron Chef Community. I will share how I use both dry and fresh aromatic herbs in my cooking, these herbs make my food tastier and add special flavors to my meals.

1. How do you use aromatic herbs in your meals—dry or fresh? Share some examples.

Our meals are incomplete without aromatic herbs. These herbss bring fragrance and flavor to our kitchen and food. In my cooking , I use several aromatic herbs, some of which we grow at our garden, while we store other after drying for later use.

I use both fresh and dry herbs in my cooking. When it comes to fresh herbs, coriander and mint are my go to choices. I uses mint to make fresh chutney. We mix fresh tomatoas, green chilies, mint, and coriander to prepare a delicious chutney, which we enjoy as a sauce alongside meals.

We grow coriander and mint at our garden and take care of them , and once the food is ready, we use it as a garnish. Whether it's a curry, soup, or any other dish, adding fresh coriander at the end enhances the arooma and flavor. We store these herbs after drying them so they can be sprinkled over food later.

As for dry herbs, I frequently use Kasuri methi (dried fenugreek). We buy it from the market and sprinkle it over lentils or curries at the end of cooking. This adds a wonderful aroma hmm and elevates the taste of the dish. In our region, kassuri methi is a staple in almost every household, enhances the flavor of our meals.

2. What are the aromatic herbs you use the most in your meals, and which is your favorite?

In my kitchen, I use several aromatic herbs that I really like. First, coriander is the one I use the most. I always sprinkle it on top of my dishes after cooking for garnish. I also have some dried coriander stored, which I use when fresh coriander isn't available.

Next is mint, which I mostly use to make chutneys or refreshing juices. I also sprinkle it over dishes for added flavor.

Then Kasuri methi (dried fenugreek), which I’ve stored in a box after buying from the market. I sprinkle it over dishes like lenttils or vegetables at the end of cooking and it adds a wonderful aroma to the food.

Another herb I use a lot is cumin. Whenever I start cooking, I heat oil and add a pinch of cumin seeds to it. A friend of mine suggested this, and yes it really enhances the flavor and aroma of my dishes. I do this for almost every dish, whether it’s vegetables or lentils.

Lastly, I frequently use curry leaves when making chicken, meat, or biryani. Adding curry leaves during cooking brings out an amazing flavor, especially in biryani or meat curries.

All of these herbs are my favorites, and I use them regularly. I honestly can't cook without them as they bring so much flavor and aroma to my dishes. Whether it's coriandar, mint, kasuri methi, cumin, or curry leaves, each one adds something special to my cooking that I really enjoy.

3. Do you have any aromatic herbs growing at home? If so, share some pictures. If not, how do you get them? Where do you buy them?

Yes, we can easily grow aromatic herbs at home, and we have planted some in our garden. We grow mint and coriander. For a few days, we were not at home, so we couldn’t care for them, and someone removed the coriander leaves without our knowledge. When we returned, there were only mint leaves left.

On the other hand, we have plenty of mint plants in our garden, and they have been thriving for a long time. We water them daily and pick the fresh leaves to make chutney, which I mentioned earlie

We also grow green chilies in our garden, and we use them along with mint and coriander to make our delicious chutney that we enjoy with our meals.

4. Share a medicinal use of these aromatic herbs. How do you prepare a remedy using them?

Aromatic herbs are not just used for adding fragrance to our food, but they also have many medical benefits that my parents use . One example I can share, which is commonly used in our family, is mint. We boil mint leaves in water and then add honey to make mint tea.

This is used to help with digestion and stomach issues.if someone in our family is experiencing indigestion or any stomach problem, this mint tea brings a lot of relief. So, it’s something we frequently use at home.
