Hello friend, greetings to you, and welcome to my post. In this post, I have talked about Christmas meals that are traditional to me in accordance with the contest organized by Steem Iron Chef.

Christmas is one of the biggest celebrations in the world, which we are all now anticipating. Christmas celebration is seen as one of the very large holidays where a lot of people do travel home to celebrate and enjoy their traditional meals with their loved ones.

It is believed that Christmas originated as a festival to commemorate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Christmas is known as the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ in Christianity (i.e., Jesus' birthday). Since the Christmas celebration has been around for over a millennium, even my family and I—including my grandparents—have been enjoying it by preparing and eating a lot of traditional and English meals. To this end, I will tell you about the two Christmas meals that are traditional in my home.

Christmas Meal: Traditional in My Home

In my home i do make enough meat-filled with and rice on Christmas day. My parents preferred eating Afang soup with pounded yam after their have finished eating rice and stew in the morning. But as for myself, even when delicious traditional Afang soup is prepared, I still prefer eating rice and stew with assorted meat with my friends.

Rice and Stew with Assorted Meat

Normally, on Christmas Day, there's usually a variety of meat in my home. We do slaughter one goat, three chickens, and buy enough cow meat. Chicken is what we normally use in preparing rice and stew. Our rice and stew normally begin on the 24th of December, when my parents will get all the assorted meat well fried and cooked as opposed to the 25th of December.

Ingredients used for boiling the chicken first:

  • 3 kg of chicken
  • 2 large, sliced onions
  • Garlic powder
  • Ginger Powder
  • Thyme
  • Curry
  • Chicken Seasoning Powder
  • Maggi, i.e., Knorr
  • 2 cups of water

Ingredients used for making chicken stew:

  • Fresh tomatoes
  • Fresh peppers
  • Onion
  • garlic
  • Ginger 1
  • 600 ml vegetable oil
  • Thyme and Curry
  • Chicken season

Preparation Stage For Christmas Chicken Stew Recipe

  • I do add the cleaned, cut chicken to a large pot along with chopped onions, garlic powder, ginger powder, thyme, curry, salt to taste, and a cup of water. The chicken should be cooked until it gets soft.

  • I Combine the tomatoes, peppers, onions, garlic, and ginger in a blender. Pour the mixture into a pot and heat it to cook off any excess water. After everything, I do place it aside.

  • I Heat the vegetable oil in a second, large pot, add some chopped onions, a bay leaf, and the de Rica tomato paste, and stir-fry for 8 minutes.

  • I Add the tomato-pepper mixture that has been boiled down and fry for about 25 minutes, or until the tomato loses its sour flavor. To avoid the bottom burning, I stir frequently.

  • I add the fresh pepper, seasoning powder to taste, 1 teaspoon oregano or thyme, 1 teaspoon curry powder, and chicken stock.

  • Next I add the chicken, and simmer for 5 minutes.

After the meal has been prepared and finished by either me or my sister, the next stage is for me to invite my friends over, where we will then seat ourselves at a dinner table and eat everything together in love and happiness. I cannot talk about the Afang soup for now due to the amount of writing that I have done about rice and stew. See you next time, and thanks for stopping by...

I am inviting @yakspeace, @preey2, and @ebeke.
