Hello steemians and members of this community, has anyone heard about jollof? Well jollof is basically rice cooked in a tomato sauce and is usually served at wedding, parties in most West African countries.There is a lot of controversy on which country has the best jollof. Ofcourse i am team Ghana and i would like to share with you how its made.

Ingredients
3 table spoons of oil
½ medium size onion
2 Bay leaves
1 teaspoon of chilli powder
1 cup of tomatoes paste
½ teaspoon of salt
1 chicken stock cube
2½ cups of rice

Procedure
Heat a pan with oil and add chopped onion and bay leaf and let it fry for about a minute

Add tomatopaste, ¼ cup of water,salt and stock cube and let it simmer for about 5 minutes

Wash rice and add to the tomato sauce

Mix everything together well and add 2 cups of water and let it simmer

After about 5 minutes stir the rice

Cover with aluminium foil and let it cook on low heat for about 20minutes

After about 20minutes perfect is made

Wow your rice looks nicely cooked and I am sure it is so flavorful!
I've never tasted the 'real' Jollof made by someone who knows how to do it traditionally.
