Today I will be sharing recipe on how to make Atama soup.
Its a popular dish in akwa ibom state. In Nigeria it is popularly known as Banga soup. You can choose to eat it with any swallow of your choice.
So firstly I went to the market to get my ingredients and the protein I'll be using for my soup.
Below are the main ingredient for banga soup.
goat meat
perewinkles (optional)
stock fish
dry fish
snails (optional)
palm fruits
Atama leaves
Above are all the major ingredients i used for my atama soup.
Other ingredients includes
- Crayfish
- Pepper
- Salt
- Seasoning cubes
- uyayak
Preparation Process
I washed all my ingredients into a clean pots. Add my seasonings which includes salt, maggi, onion, pepper. Then add a little water and let it simmer for 10 minutes.

Next, I poured my banga fruit into a pot added water and let it boil for 10 mins then blend it to extract the juice for the soup.

I added the juice to my pot and allow it to simmer for 10 minutes I add my crayfish and my atama leaf then allow you it to simmer again for 10 minutes.
I added salt and seasoning cubes to taste then make sure my pepper was enough, then after the final tasting, I off my cooking gas then my atama soup was ready to be served.

You can choose to eat it with any swallow of your choice.
Either starch, semovita, fofo, Oatmeal swallow, Garry and other numerous swallow of ones choice.
