I found this mushroom along a farm. It sprout from the soil so I plucked one, perceived the aroma to know if it's edible mushroom or not.
From the aroma, I knew it's edible so I uprooted them all and took it home.

Steps

First thing I did was to soak in warm water to breakdown the soil particles, carefully removing all dirt from the mushroom. Then I cut off part of the root stem.

Then I transferred it to my pot

After that, I went to pound my pepper. The quantity of pepper here wasn't enough so I had to add more pepper in between the cooking because I wanted a really spicy pepper soup.

Then I went in with my pepper, diced onions, stock cube, multipurpose curry powder and salt.

Then I stirred to mix the ingredients together, added little water and placed on fire to cook.

Mushroom is steaming...
It was at this point I realised the pepper wasn't enough so I added more pepper and allowed it to continue steaming. Then I added the quantity of water I needed in my pepper soup. About 2 glasses.

In my country, there is no pepper soup without scent leaf. It adds spices and flavor to pepper soups.
So I plucked few leafs of scent leaf along side curry leaf from our mini garden at the back of the house.

After cooking the mushroom till it was tender, I added the scent leaf and curry leaf, gave it a good stir, covered the pot and allowed it to cook for some seconds.
And my mushroom pepper soup is ready to be served!

And ready to be devoured.

Conclusion
I was able to achieve the spicy level desired. And I enjoy everything bit.
Unfortunately, it wasn't the regular soft kind of mushrooms I'm use to. If I had know that, I probably would had cut off more stem making it shorter.
But regardless, it was savoury and delicious.

Thank you and have a wonderful day ahead!

Such a great soup.

I miss this !!

Indeed. Only that it's rarely sold at markets in town except you go to the villages.
