As Nigerians, when you mention tea, the first thing that comes to our mind is a mix of Cocoa beverages.
That's how we are. So if you tell a child, "we're going to take tea". What he knows is that tea is a mix of chocolate and milk powder. So that leads us to my breakfast:
Tea and biscuits
Yes, tea and bread, tea and biscuit, tea with egg, tea and buns, is known as the most widely eaten breakfast in Nigeria especially tea and bread. And this is mostly accompanied with some fried eggs, toasted bread, or just tea with normal bread.
When there's no bread, we just substitute bread with biscuit and that's what I've done.
Yellow crackers is my best biscuit to take with tea, so I bought two of it.
Other ingredients in my tea includes:
- Hot chocolate (in purple satchet)
- Peak milk (In blue satchet)
- Cup of hot water and my spoon
Tea condements
Next I add the chocolate and milk to the hot water to make tea. Some like to add sugar to it, I don't!

After stirring together the tea is ready.
Next I open up my Yellow crackers biscuits. I prefer this particular crackers biscuit because it's very crunchy and when I even put it into yhe tea it doesn't soak much and thats how I love to take it. But surely I cannot soak bread into my tea. 😀🙃.

A little selfie. Sorry it appears dark
This was my best meal of the day that I want @patjewell to have a look. @bossj23 enjoys this more than me, mostly with bread and deliciously fried eggs 😀🤭. @vivigibelis is also invited, to share my Nigerian meals.
Pasta is one of our delights here. We have many different methods of cooking pasta, our two most popular pastas are the spaghetti and the macaroni pasta, both have different shapes. That leads us to my lunch:
Spaghetti pasta
Well I'm not going to talk much about this one. I feel everyone loves pasta, my mom just decided to cook it for us since she was at home. It was a surprise, I won't tell you why 😂. But I did enjoy it.
Snacks
Taking a walk in the evenings, my favorite thing to eat is the corn. We always see roasted corn in the street, because now is the corn season. Here below os one that I bought:
I also know that Nigerian soup is different from Venezuelan soup 😊, we have many types of soup, some are thickened and soup are watery. This takes us to my lunch:
Garri and soup
We almost always eat soup for dinner, and these soups are always eaten with Garri (made from Cassava). Garri is dipped into the soup and that's what makes the dinner.
This has been my participation in the daily menu delicacy.
I hope you liked the meals. As for me I can never get tired of eating these meals.
Thank you for patiently reading...
For those i already mentioned, I invite you to participate in the contest. This is the link to the latest update:
Okay, let me compare Nigeria to South Africa.
Yellow biscuits - Are what we call "cream crackers" in SA. We don't take them with tea, but normally with a salty spread, cheese, fish paste, or even an egg with mayonnaise.
Peak milk - First time I hear about it. In fact, I've never seen sachets of powder milk in bigger boxes.
Spaghetti - Also LOVED by South Africans
Corn on the cob - YUMMY! I also love it. With a braai (barbeque), we will even wrap them in foil with salt and butter and then put them on the open fire
Garri - I've read about it plenty of times, but I have yet to eat it. Maybe one day when I visit Nigeria.
Thanks for the invite, and good wishes for the contest!
