INTRODUCTION

Hello friends, it's my pleasure to be here today, how are we enjoying our weekend? Already we are trying to call it a day for today, but firstly, before I do that I will love to share with you all my own recipe for today.

In Akwa ibom state, we do some of our cookings every Saturday because we believe that, it is on Saturday we will see varieties of food stuff in the market.

I cook a lot of food today but I will love to share just one recipe with us.

My recipe for today will be on plantain porridge.

Plantain porridge

We all know plantain which some of us we cook it in a different way. But mine for today I make it porridge.

The ingredients I used in cooking plantain porridge are

  • Raw plantain
  • Smoke ice fish
  • Pepper
  • Onions
  • Sent leaves
  • Curry leaves
  • Pumpkin leaves
  • Crayfish
  • Red oil
  • Seasoning cubes

In cooking plantain porridge, there are steps we wish to follow.
Though some people have their own method of cooking plantain porridge.

METHODS OF COOKING PLANTAIN PORRIDGE

Before cooking plantain porridge, I first of all wash my plantain, then remove the peels, then I dice it to the sizes I want.
I love to dice it to look smallish so that it can get soft quickly, after that I keep it aside

Wash the pumpkin leaves, sent leaves and curry leaves together then slice it and also keep aside.

I blend pepper and crayfish together and also slice the onions, then I keep it aside.

When I am done preparing everything, I do make sure I clean up the kitchen so that I won't feel sand in the food.
We all know that if you are not careful while cooking plantain, you will be eating alot of sand.

So after I have carefully prepare everything, I wash my cooking pot very well then rewash the dice plantain and put it in pot, then I add some water that will help finish the cooking.

When the plantain start boiling, I wash my smoke ice fish and add there so that it will help remove the taste from the fish and add to the food.

When the plantain is totally soft that is when I add red oil then immediately I add the blender crayfish, then turn it, why I add oil and the crayfish together is because I want it to be very thick.

After that, I allowed it to Cook well and then I add my seasoning cubes then when the red oil has blend well in the pot, I add my pumpkin leaves, sent leave and curry leaves and I bring down the pot.
From here my plantain porridge is ready to be consumed.

Omo I enjoy my recipe with a bottle of zero sugar coke,

Who did I enjoy my recipe with

Well we are just 5 in my family which is myself and my kids, so the people I enjoy my meal with, were my kids. We love eating porridge plantain

how often do I cook porridge plantain

Well before plantain was the main food in my family but ever since the price of plantain kick up, we don't eat it like that again.
Now we do eat it once in a month and we like it like that.

Porridge plantain is a most eaten food to everyone, so I will love us to try.
