So this very day my mum went to the market and purchased some food items/ ingredients necessary for the preparation of this food. The market is very close to my home, so this time around she didn't take as much time there as the normal woman routine of delaying in the market.

INGREDIENTS BOUGHT
1710019010780.jpgGoat meat
1710018931807.jpgCow skin(Ikpa)
1710018769661.jpgFresh pepper and crayfish
1710018741270.jpgFish
1710018435660.jpgAditan
1710018385306.jpgDry pepper in case it's not peppery
1710018197440.jpgWater leaf
1710018090812.jpgOnga maggi
1710018855907.jpgFiltered Aditan
1710018672050.jpgSliced Ikpa
1710018632282.jpgPounded pepper

Aditan is a very bitter leaf and needs to be washed before preparation, so before the washing of aditan is done. Aditan is first of all sliced to a very tiny spine, put in a pot and cooked to remove all the dirt first and gradually washed to take off some of the bitter syndromes, it is rainy season in my country and leaves like aditan has a very slippery body making it very clean and free of severe dirt.

  • Everything that needed to be washed was washed, the pepper was pounded, the maggi was loosed, the aditan sliced, cooked, washed and filtered, the waterleaf washed and sliced, the fish ripped off from bones, the meat washed, the cow meat(ikpa) skin washed and sliced.
  • Now, first of all, put the washed meat, fish, and cow meat skin(ikpa) in the pot, add 1 full jug of water, add some cubes of Maggi about 7 cubes and some salt about 1½ teaspoonfuls, to the water and start cooking till about 35 mins when fresh goat meat has become soft and able to be chewed, then add your waterleaf and oil with the pounded pepper (pepper pounded with crayfish), then allow it to steam for about 15 mins, then you will now add you aditan leaf and stir it, the aditan leaf is allow to get heated for another 10 mins and your food is done.
  • Apart from other processes like the washing, slicing etc, the cooking of aditan will take you approximately 1 hour if not more.

So this soup can be eaten with fufu, garri, or somofita but today I prefer to eat it with fufu and this fufu was prepared by Mom that same day. I will tell you next time how to prepare fufu(cassava starch).

I helped in all the washing of the washable and adding it to the pot while she cooked. Today I was the errand boy and I was glad to do the job because I was given a pinch of fat from the goat meat to eat. After all, fat is not always allowed in soups but only in rice, it was wonderful cooking. I invite @dwings, @bossj23, @mesola and @goodybest to join in this contest.

Saludos.

Wow, your curiosity to try the food is a nice idea, Thank you so much

Hola amigo

Saludos amigo

Surely when i watch movies, i see what the call soup and i wonder why they call it so. Thanks for you reply

Hi friend

Your soup looks nutritious. I really want to know what is fufu? Is it like bread? You help your mother in washing vegetables and pots means you are a good son. Best of luck for the contest

Hahaha, your question is quite hilarious, Fufu is not like bread, bread is hard and strong, while fufu is elastic like rubber it could be cut out easily with hands, moulded to balls and swallow, many call it swallow. I just wish you read my day 1 and day 2 diary game of processing garri, Fufu is starch like semovita(yam powder) but fufu is made from cassava powder, the starch is put in a pot with a measured amount of water, then it is put on fire, stirred until the it is formed. It is mostly common in african, I don't if the white eat it but if they do, it may be prepared in a different way. Thanks for you reply, If you would like to come to Nigeria?, I would show you a place where you can have a great taste of this food or better still walk into a Nigerian restaurant and tell them you want aditan soup, you are gonna enjoy it. Thanks for your reply 💕🥞
