Greetings of the day SIC!!!

Today I am here to talk a bit about Pumpkin Flowers...

Recently I have been making a lot of Tempuras with Pumpkin Flowers as we had a lot of flowers available!!!

And today, I once again saw a lot of flowers at the backyard of my restaurant! But this time, I also saw some tiny pumpkins forming...

This morning it was simply a fascinating sight : Pumpkin plants adorned with vibrant flowers!!!

Upon closer inspection, I learned that these flowers come in two types : Male and Female!

Let's start with the Male ones!

The male pumpkin flowers stand out with their slender stems and bright yellow petals...

They play such an important role in pollination process, producing pollen needed to fertilize the female ones!

The male flowers normally outnumber the female ones and attract pollinators like bees and ants!

Now let's go for the female ones...

On the other hand, female pumpkin flowers feature a bulbous structure at their base, resembling a mini pumpkin!

Inside these flowers are where the magic of nature happens...Once pollinated, they develop into round fruits that we know as pumpkins!!!

Ants were the main pollinators this morning...

While looking closer, I noticed many ants diligently moving between the flowers, aiding in the pollination process.

Their tiny but essential role ensures the successful reproduction of the pumpkin plants.

Here I want to show you how it looks like inside...

As you may notice, they are both different! Completely different indeed!

Some successful pollinations leading to some small pumpkins!

I hope these small pumpkins turn into big ones soon...provided that no insects/animals feed on them before us!!!

I was so happy discovering and learning more on this magical work of nature...I spend around 2 hours watching, taking photos, opening the flowers...examining the ants move etc...

I really enjoyed it a lot and so happy to share these shots on my blog!

Ps. all the flowers that I picked up will be turned into tempuras!!!

Oh yes, Nature is amazing! Enjoy it to the max and learn from it!

Thanks for reading my words and hope you liked the post!
Wish you a wonderful day/evening ahead!
