Steemit Engagement Challenge S7-W1: Healthy Nutrition - The way I see it!

Greetings of the day everyone!

Oh well this is my first post for 2023...so let's start by wishing all of you lovely people a very happy new year and wish you all only good and positive things all year round!

Couple of days back I was so happy to read that SIC has been selected for the 7th Engagement Challenge season which definitely means that the girls/leaders of SIC are doing a great job in making SIC the foodies place to be!

It is simply amazing to see such a big increase at all levels in the community! Looks like 2023 will be our year! So yeah...lets keep working hard and grow this community bigger and bigger!

Let's get back to the challenge...

First of all let me tell you that it is only because of my restaurant job that it is becoming difficult for me to write my daily post...but will try to be present often now on! Fingers crossed!

What is healthy food for me!???

I have been working in top class hotels and restaurant around the world for long years and I am still in this circuit...so for me the best definition of healthy food is : Food that you know where is coming from and not overconsume...

Know the source of your products...

Actually everything is healthy as long as you know the dose...

Chocolate is great...but if you eat a lot, then that's not good! Same goes for fatty foods, oil, meats etc...

Follow the season...eat fresh as long as you can!

For example right now, we are in the summer season in my country and we have a lot of tropical fruits out there, so better enjoy them while we have them available!

We are in the litchi season right now...time to enjoy the max!


Include a lot of vegetables and fruits in your diet...

We've all heard and read about the benefits of veggies and fruits, so yeah guys you need to have different veggies and fruits on your dinner table.

I visit the markets very often...like 4 times a week and always come back home with different products for the family!

Even for my guests at the restaurant, I add a lot of vegetables and fruits in the foods!

Salads...fruits...

To eat healthy is not that difficult you know...all you need is control your mouth!!!lol!!!

There can be days where you go full load, but you need to be aware that all that you put in your body will have an effect sooner or later!

Eat a lot of salads and fresh fruits when you can afford for sure!

Red fruits and berries...

Berries are one of the superfoods but in some countries they are very expensive, but if you go out in forest/mountains, you can pick up a lot of different wild varieties and they are for free!!! Isn't it amazing!!!

It's all about discipline...

As mentioned above, for me healthy eating is not that complicated as it all depends on one's discipline!

If you can retain yourself from just putting in everything you see on the table in your tummy, then you will be fine for sure!

From time to eat...go for a pizza or burger too...

This is completely fine, no worries!!!

See, I love pizzas and burgers...but only when cooked at home! Then you know what you are putting in!

Not all restaurants care about your health...never forget that!

Make your own fast foods at home with the best ingredients you can source out!

Go out...fish, collect products from nature...pick up wild fruits...

Nature is amazing and we are surrounded by it...all we need is open our eyes and look for the products available for free for us to enjoy!

I love fishing and bringing back some fresh catch for the family...nothing better than this!

Hmmm salt...yeah salt, that's a big danger!!

Most of the salt we found are processed...not natural at all! Same goes for sugar too...

I've had the opportunity to pick some up recently and will go again soon! Natural salt is something else!

You can be eating the most healthy foods out there but if the salt if chemical based, then nothing is good! If you understand what I mean!

Conclusion : You are the master of your health....

You are the master of your health...all is in your hands!

Don't get fooled by ads and videos you see here and there, just simply use your logic and eat responsibly.

And I'll mention it again : Know where your foods come from...this is super important!!!

So voila my friends, a little thought from my end...this is how I see things in life.

We are surrounded with good and bad things (not only food stuffs), all we need is some common sense and put in only products that we feel are good for our health!

Ps. Eating 5 burgers a day will definitely get you sick and have an early death for sure!!!

friend, without a doubt, your publication is very pleasant and sincere, certainly we are the owners of our body and we make the decision that we consider most appropriate, but definitely 5 hamburgers do no good to anyone, and I totally agree with you, many restaurants do not our health is of interest, so eating at home is a good option.

I have learned great tips from your post: "where they come from and the amount of food"; Of course, by knowing the origin of the food we would already have an idea of what we can expect from them in relation to the well-being of our body, in the same order of ideas it is true; nothing in excess is good. In short, yes, healthy eating is a matter of discipline and with it it soon becomes a lifestyle without reverse. It is very interesting to make fast food at home with the healthiest ingredients that we can find, that would also put an end to the feeling of guilt that eating a pizza, or hamburger, or hot dog generates (laughs). Natural salt, very good point, I live in a coastal area so it will not be difficult for me to put it into practice. Es tan importante lo que dices, todo en exceso es malo, hasta lo bueno en exceso es malo, así de la misma manera son los alimentos, sobretodo porque en algún momento pasarán factura al cuerpo.
