Kheer is prepared by very few ingredients and the base of this recipe is lots and lots of milk and rice and the rice which is used is gol dana rice which we Indian generally use for preparation of kheer.

Now I want to start the recipe before starting with the steps I am giving you the information of the ingredients which I used for preparing this desert.

Ingredients Used

1)Crushed cardamom 2-3
2)Cashews and raisins
3)3 litres of milk
4)1 cup rice
5)200 GMS jaggery
6)Grated coconut 1 bowl

Steps to prepare Kheer

Firstly take a cup goldana rice and then after cleaning the rice soak in the hot water for 10 to 15 minutes so that the rise becomes easy to mash. After 15 to 20 minutes of soaking mash the rice so that it could become easy to be cooked.

Next step is boil the milk and then add the rice to the boiling milk and then with the help of a spoon or ladle mix it well to avoid lumps in the rice as if you will leave it without mixing there is a high chance of lumps occuring in the kheer.

Next step is once the rice is semi boiled in the milk then add the dry fruits and grated coconuts in the kheer. And before adding dry fruits crush 3 to 4 cardamoms and then mix it in the kheer for better flavour. You can also add Cashew powder and milkmaid to give better flavour to your kheer.

My husband's most favourite dessert is homemade kheer so I often try preparing the same 2 to 3 times a month but as we all know that sweet deserts are very harmful for our body we avoid eating it regularly.

Finally after adding everything keep mixing it within the regular intervals and cook it for around 20 to 25 minutes so that everything mixes and boil well and don't at the jaggery during the boiling time keep it for 5 to 10 minutes after removing it from the gas stove and then at the jaggery to it .

*Finally our kheer is ready to be served and I made puris and aloo dum along with kheer on the occasion of 78th independence day today. Wishing all my Indian brothers and sisters a very Happy Independence Day
