On this occasion, I want to prepare a legendary food recipe from my area, which is very famous in my area, even this food is often served at formal events such as parties, meetings and other events. Here I will share this traditional food recipe with all my friends. In my area, it is called "timphan srikaya" which is made from sticky rice flour and some additional ingredients such as bananas, sweet potatoes and pumpkin.
This is a food made from glutinous rice flour mixed with pumpkin and then filled inside and wrapped in banana leaves and steamed. This is a food that tastes very delicious and has even become an iconic food typical of the Aceh region. Timphan has various kinds of fillings in it, including coconut, srikaya, and durian jam according to individual tastes. However, I really like the Srikaya filling.
One tbsp of rice flour
150 g of granulated sugar
500 ml of thick coconut milk
Pandan leaves
Cinnamon
- Mix four eggs 150 g of granulated sugar until the sugar dissolves then put it in a frying pan and add all the ingredients that I have mentioned above then stir everything over medium heat until the texture thickens As in the picture After that the srikaya is ready
200 grams of glutinous rice flour
sufficient young banana leaves
150 ml coconut milk
pandan leaves
- The first step is to peel the skin of the pumpkin, then boil the pumpkin with 150 milliliters of coconut milk, add pandan leaves and a little salt, boil until the pumpkin is cooked

- After that, puree the pumpkin that has been boiled, then add the sticky rice flour slowly, then knead until the dough is smooth and does not stick to your hands.

- After that, take a little dough and make it into a ball. Do this until it's all used up. After that, clean the banana leaves and brush a little oil on the banana leaves. Then, take the dough and flatten it and add the srikaya filling. Then, wrap it in banana leaves by closing both sides.

- After that, steam the srikaya timphan for about an hour, then wait for it to cool before enjoying it.
The taste of this srikaya Timphan is very delicious. The combination of the soft dough and the sweet filling makes this timphan taste very special.
