Hello everyone, back again with me on this occasion I want to present a traditional recipe which is a traditional cake recipe that is very well known by the Indonesian people. Of course, it is already familiar to us, namely the name of the yellow sweet potato Talam cake, yes, as the name suggests, this cake is made from yellow sweet potatoes and a mixture of coconut milk and several flours such as tapioca flour, rice flour and also granulated sugar.

This yellow sweet potato Talam cake is one of my favorite market snacks. I really like this orange sweet potato Talam cake because for me it tastes very delicious. The combination of soft and sweet orange sweet potato and the addition of a layer of coconut milk sauce makes every bite taste so special. Soft and savory sweetness in one bite. Of course it will create an extraordinary taste of this traditional dish.

Here I will also share the recipe for this yellow sweet potato Talam cake with all my friends. If you are a sweet potato lover, you can try this recipe because I am sure you will like it.

Ingredients:

Yellow dough:

  • 400 g steamed yellow sweet potato
  • 175 g granulated sugar
  • 400 ml coconut milk
  • 150 g tapioca flour
  • 50 g rice flour
  • One teaspoon salt

white dough:

  • 350 milli coconut milk
  • 60 g rice flour
  • 40 g tapioca flour
  • One teaspoon of salt


How to make:

  • The first step is to steam the yellow sweet potato first, after steaming it, put it in a blender, add 400 ml of coconut milk and granulated sugar, then puree until everything is smooth, if it is smooth, pour it into a container.

  • After that, grease the baking pan with a little oil, then pour the yellow sweet potato mixture into the baking pan and then steam it which has been previously heated for about 25 minutes until the mixture thickens and hardens.

  • After that, prepare the white dough, add 350 ml of coconut milk, then add tapioca flour and rice flour, one teaspoon of salt, then stir until everything is perfectly mixed, then pour it into a baking pan that has been filled with a layer of sweet potatoes, then steam for about 20 minutes until the dough is white, thick and hardens like yellow, then let it sit for a while and then remove it from the pan.
