✔️ What does insecurity mean to you?

Insecurity means the state in which people are subject to vulnerability, and danger. In a layman's understanding insecurity means a lack of security which is the stage at which people live their lives with fears and worries of getting attacked by their enemies.

In most parts of the world even in Nigeria, most people are living in fear because of insecurity that is happening which if a person is not careful he or she can be attacked just as what happened in Jos during the Christmas celebration where more than 100 people's lost their lives and properties because of insecurity.

✔️ What do you think are the causes of insecurity in your country?

There are a lot of causes of insecurity in Nigeria some of the key causes of insecurity that Nigerians are facing are:

• Unemployment. Those who are jobless have nothing to do other than work as hoodlums, and kidnappers in our community.

• Political Issues. In Nigeria when one party fails to win the election the party that fails would do everything possible to ensure the ruling party is unsafe thereby creating chaos in the country.

• Tribalism and Greedyness. Tribalism is also another cause of insecurity in Nigeria. In Nigeria, if a certain tribe did something wrong to another tribe instead of the tribe that committed the offense facing the penalty, the issue would be closed off because of tribalism and religious differences.

• Inability of government to protect citizens. Nigeria is a big country that is blessed with a lot of mineral resources which our government has failed to utilize very well. Citizens are been treated badly by those who would have been protecting them because of how politicians have turned Nigeria's democracy into a do-or-die affair.

Insecurity affects the population because it makes many people homeless. In a town or community where there is a crisis the people in such town/community usually run out for safety thereby abounding their place and becoming refugees in other people's land.

Insecurity again affects the population by increasing the death rate, thereby reducing the number of people in a particular geographical area. During insecurity men and young guys suffer the most. Insecurity brings about development.

✔️Name some security measures that can be implemented.

Some of the security measures that can be implemented are;

• Create jobs and employ youths so they can be busy.

• Maintaining effective armed forces such as the Army, Navy, and Airforce.

• Implementation of civil defense and emergency means of reaching out to security agencies.

• Deployed more security agencies to troubled communities.

• Improve the welfare of security men/women.

• Use diplomacy to stop threats from those causing problems.
