Lalbagh Hazarduari Palace is a historic palace located in Murshidabad, a city in the Indian state of West Bengal. The palace was built in the 19th century during the reign of Nawab Nazim Humayun Jah of Bengal, Bihar and Orissa. The palace is known for its unique architecture that blends European and Indian styles.
The palace is called "Hazarduari" because it has a thousand doors (hazar means thousand and duari means door in Bengali). However, not all the doors are functional; many of them were built to confuse intruders and to provide additional ventilation.
Today, the Lalbagh Hazarduari Palace is a popular tourist attraction and also houses a museum that displays a collection of artifacts from the Nawabi period. The museum's collection includes paintings, manuscripts, furniture, weapons, and other items of historical significance.
