I've covered this series in three parts, Click the links below to find more valuable information

In particular, these are things that help you get a job, get promoted, start a business, lead a business operation to success or complete a major project.

Start thinking in terms of results

My number one tip for today is that everybody should start thinking about results rather than time, effort, or work put in. that's the reality; results are what matters.

Now one could be forgiven for not realizing this lesson sooner in life because many of us work in some menial jobs. In corporate environments, that are akin to some fantasy land where they pay everybody by the hour or by the year.

If you're making a salary, that's essentially what that is. They're paying you by the year, and in doing so, they're indirectly communicating that what's of value is your time. And not necessarily what results from you achieve because they're not paying you for the results.

This directly contradicts reality because, in reality, results are what matters and not the amount of time you put in. anyone who has tried to get a job or has tried to get promoted or has tried to start a company or has tried to manage a business operation and lead it to success.

What matters is not the amount of time you put in. what matters are the results. And that's because you're directly confronting reality, and at the high level in many of these companies, a lot of us work in they know this. And what matters at that level is the results and not necessarily the time that you put in.

Now, what does this mean in practical terms? It's all very good to talk about a new philosophy and all this kind of stuff, but what can you do differently? And what does this enable you to do? if you focus on results, a couple of things are going to happen:

First of all, if you've worked towards a goal and you've put in a lot of time, effort, and work and you've given it every chance to succeed, but yet it's not producing any measurable result. You will get red flags popping up in your head a lot sooner.

Then you will hopefully be able to engage your critical thinking skills to determine there is something I can tweak; I can change about what I'm doing here that will lead me to better odds of actually getting some results.

So you won't be stuck in that situation where you're just working towards a goal. sometimes for years, you don't produce any results, but yet you're locked in this mentality that keeps you working towards that goal without stepping back and questioning

“I have seen many people fall into this.” They even tell themselves stuff like, “well if i quit now that means that all the work i've already put in is worthless so i must keep going right.”

So they force themselves to keep going, essentially hitting their head against the wall for something that eventually they admit that it's not working, and they try something else. So you get there a lot sooner. So that's the first practical manifestation.

Work Smarter, Not Harder

if you change your mentality and start thinking in terms of results, the horrible cliched expression “work smarter not harder.”

I'm sure you've heard that. I'm sure you're sick and tired of hearing that, right? But there's a lesson here:

if we actually examine, in the real world, why person A worked towards a goal and was successful and contrast that with why person B worked towards a different goal and was unsuccessful.

We find that more often than not, it's not because of the amount of work they put in. it's because of their choice of goals.

Let's face it; the reality is that some things in life, if you know you'd like to do, but the odds are really against you, the deck is stacked against you in terms of the likelihood of you achieving that goal.

However, other things in life are the opposite. It's almost like an opportunity that opens up before you, and you go a little bit down the path, and immediately you're starting to see results. And if you keep going down that path, it turns into a fabulous success, right?

So when we look at this, we realize that the ability to choose appropriate goals is where it's at. To have the critical thinking skills and if something is not going right to correct.

Now person A and person B could have the same assets and resources available, but they might be in a different situation or be in the same situation. But have different talents different resources at their disposal. So it's all about reading the situation and focusing on results.

If you focus on results, you tend to be much more successful in your personal life, professional life, and career.

So I hope you found this helpful I'm interested in your thoughts whether you agree or think I'm completely out to lunch on this. Let me know in the comments.
