RELATIONSHIP and CONNECTIONS

Dear friends, I want to wish you all a happy Sunday and pray that the word of God we listened to today bears fruit in us AMEN.

I'm writing this article today with a positive mind that it will inspire someone to start creating positive relationship which will inturn becomes a connection.

What is a Relationship and why is it important?

According to the Oxford Language dictionary, "the way in which two or more people or things are connected, or the state of being connected."

BECAUSE I Am A TEACHER

Some of my friends no longer pick my calls. Some of them find it difficult to reply my texts or comment on my posts. Many of them were very dull in school when we were class mates. I did their assignments and assisted them to upgrade. That time, they couldn't do anything without my being there. In short, they literally looked for me like mad dogs because I was an essential component of their aluta struggle. Mr. Bigg's was were they took me to for breakfast,lunch and super. I was treated like a king. I remember with awe how some bought me very costly wears because the ones I came with from my village were worn-out and nasty. They won't want their academic engine room to be dirty. I was an emblem of every good thing they sought after. The ladies won't spare me their front and back sides. With their Barca and Chelsea, they seduced me and lured me to have them. They called me names because I was too timid to respond to their amorous advances. That was how I was adored and cherished until we left.

The memories of those days kept staring at me when I was doing my NYSC. I didn't know that the world was a terrible place where one couldn't eat his cake and have it. I remembered our parting moments. Most of my mates backed home very embarrassing results like 3rd class and the last one we called" certificate of attendance. "I saw how happy they were even with their not-too-good-results. They told me that all they needed was a university certificate. I didn't know what they meant. Those of us who came out with 2/1 or 2/2 pitied them because we felt it was all about academic excellence. We celebrated with all we had got because we saw ourselves occupying very strategic positions in the society. Were we right?

No! Life changed . It was a dramatic change that combined nostalgia with melancholy. I met one in Abuja who is a managing director of a company. He is a bastard millionaire now. I took little of his busy schedule to asked him about most of my classmates. His reply shocked me to my bones. He told me how three of my classmates were working in CBN,some working in NNPC,some working in very prestigious organizations. While he was giving me the sermon, I was completely lost. He noticed it , asked me to calm down. When I took time to tell him that the best brains in our class including myself are teachers,he laughed scornfully at me. He said he knew we were going to be teachers going by the way we studied very hard as if life depended on our book and the excellent scores we got.

We parted. Till now,he hasn't picked my call nor reply my numerous messages. He ignores my posts because level has changed. He is not alone in this. I chatted with a few of them recently and when they got to know that I am a teacher, they stopped chatting me. One of them even made inquiry into how much I collected as my monthly salary. When I told him how meagre my monthly salary was, he laughed contemptuously saying that what I got as salary per annum was not up to his monthly stipend. That what I got as my monthly salary was his pocket money for soya every evening. Where is he working? Oil company in River State. My politicians friends won't say anything on my posts because I am a teacher. This is our world. This is how bad the world is. My advice quoting Achebe's Things Fall Apart is that" those whose palm-kernel has been cracked by benevolent spirits should be humble".

Here is my reply to his story.

Now to the caption of my article. Relationship comes as a result of a trusted friendship. Good friendship leads to a long lasting relationship.

Businesses strives on relationship, people tend to do business with those they trust and as well can recommend them.
A marriage built on friendship can never tier apart because you already understands each other.

If you are from Nigeria, you would have been very much aware of the burial of Obi Cubana's mum that took place sometimes last month at Oba in Anambara State.
That was an epitome of Relationship and Connection in play.
No good friend who is rich and well to do will want his true friend poor.

In Conclusion, i want to urge you all to intentionally create positive relationship because alone, you can go far, but with many, you will go very very far and fast too.

No good friend who is rich and well to do will want his true friend poor.

I would like to agree. One of the reasons I'm still trying so hard to achieve my goal is to see the people close to me working together without the hassle and bustles of life.

I was not sociable, but I feel like the special bonds that I saw within groups have sparked these desires in me.

This is the real truth. Working as a team yields a very rich reward. This was my problem, I always depended on myself for the things I needed to accomplish. But I realised that humans need each other to attain great heights.
