Popular Belgian food known as moules-frites is thought to have originated in the Flanders region of northern Belgium. French fries and mussels make up the majority of the dish.
Moules marinière (made with white wine, shallots, butter, and parsley), moules natures (steamed with butter, celery, and leeks), and moules à la crème (made with flour and cream) are just a few of the different ways that the mussels can be prepared.
In keeping with Belgian culinary tradition, the fries must be made with double-fried bintje potatoes. The dish known as moules-frites is regarded as Belgium's national dish.
