The lighthouse of Alexandria is considered one of the seven wonders of the ancient world and it dates back to the Greco-Roman era, where its construction began in the era of Ptolemy I for the purpose of guiding ships and it consisted of four floors and on top of the fourth floor there was a dome above which there was a statue of pure bronze of Poseidon the sea god.
And the lighthouse continued to perform its function of guiding ships until the Arab conquest in 641 AD and beginning in the year 700 AD collapses started successive, where the lamp fell, then the second floor was destroyed in the year 1100 AD due to a violent earthquake and nothing was left of it except the ground floor and in the fourteenth century Another earthquake happened that destroyed the entire building
